It doesn't make sense to me though, I thought it was all about the Asian market? 3pm would be 11pm in Beijing, but 5pm is 1am in Beijing. Surely making it later makes it worse for those in the Far East. Are there that many in America who care? Obviously there will be plenty who watch it but it's what the 5th or 6th sport over there? In Eastern Asia it's number one isn't it?
5pm is crazy really if like me you'll be using the nerves excuse to start drinking early! After the semi I had to watch the game again to see the bits of the game I couldn't remember. Never mind
The only other major sporting event which clashes is Barcelona and Athletico Madrid in their league decider which has the same k/o time as the Final.
Only repeating what the FA said. It could be more people watch it here at that time. Yes, a lot will watch it in America. It would surprise some how many bars show our football there. I remember my cousin, who lives in New York sending me a photo of an advert covering the whole of a building in Times Square area advertising the game where we beat Arsenal. Whether it is the number 1 or 6th sport the only things which matter to the FA are how many watch it and how much they can sell it for.
You might find there's more in South America! If the figure of a global audience is right! Then I think the 2 teams reaching the final are getting short changed financially.
My mate lives in California; black n amber through and through. I should imagine he's chuffed to bits with the kick off time!
It's fine for the Arsenal supporters living in London, but we're not gonna get back until the early hours of the morning. The Semi-Final was worse though, getting back off the Coach in 'Ull on Sunday night/Monday morning and having to queue for about an hour for a ****ing taxi. They don't take where people travel from into account very much.
No problem for me. But blame the TV companies who want to maximise the possible audience with a 5pm ko. Also, it is going to be very hot on saturday so 5pm may well help us more than say a 3pm ko.
The 5pm kick off is a shocker for Australian based City fans. The lock out doesn't apply at the casino and it is undoubtedly the best venue to watch live sport at that time in the morning...
Youre planning on walking out at half time then? I didnt think we'd be home and dried by then but fair enough.
hi altringham..... I am also booked on 21.00 to Manchester from Euston..whats the best way to get there on tube from Wembley and how long should it take? thanks in advance for any info !
Either walk to Kings Cross, not too far & get the Metropolitan to Wembley Park & you'll come right out at Wembley Way, or go to Euston Square & Metropolitan to Wembley Park, of course you could get the tube to KC from Euston, but the messing about is about the same as walking it. Also get a day pass, it's a bit more expensive but if you have a bit of time to wander round before, it's worth it.
I'm getting the London Overground from North Wembley to Euston, (and vice versa). It was about 20-30 mins last time but there is about a 10-15 min walk to and from the stadium.
I am fairly certain that more non English will watch that. I'm also fairly pissed off as I was looking forward to watching that game, and having only the one sky box I can't record both either. ****s sake.
