Named after Fungus the Bogeyman. Where would you be without the points we donate you every season? L1!
I disagree, when he recieves the ball he is instantly looking for Wiggins out on the left hand side and I would say 8 times out of 10 he finds him, meaning we are over the half way line before the opposition are anywhere near back in position. He plays an important hand in setting up our counter attacking play.
I mentioned recently that Alnwick will be returning, Poyet will join Sunderland and then come back to us on a year's loan, and that JR will sign a two-year deal. All of the above will be confirmed by Wednesday/Thursday.
Will the knuckle draggers finally get to beat the humans next season though? Must be about 10 games since they have!!
Surely they can't like holloway down the den he vowed undying love for palace and said they are the best fans in the world and is at Millwall on the rebound
Hamer to the foxes what a merry go round so far i have heard Its done and dusted last Friday Next he is talking this week done and duested this Thursday coming JS has now signed for Foxes so Hamer is now talking to us and wants to stay anyway.
I appreciate he is probably on a much better wedge at Leicester, but that can be the only up side to this move for me from the players prospective. Realistically, the most action he will get next season (barring injury or major loss of form to Schmeichel) will be the odd Carling Cup match and getting to do the pre match warm up at better stadiums week in week out and this to my mind shows a real lack of ambition on Ben Hamer's part. There are several keepers in the game that have made a career out of being nothing more than back up at any club they have been at (Steve Harper, Carlo Nash off the top of my head) and Hamer i believe is running a real risk of going down the same path with this move. Surely his careere would have been better served as one of the championships better keepers to sign a new deal with us, continue the good form he showed since returning from injury this season and earning a move to a premier league club where he will be number one, earning us a bit of cash in the process. Having said that, I am not overly worried by this, Pope will be a more than adequate replacement.
Rob Elliott went to Newcastle for an extra £8k a week, so perhaps Hamer should have asked him whether it is worth it. Not many people would turn down the chance to earn an extra £400,000 a year. Leicester are now awash with money & my guess is that Hamer has jumped on the band wagon (signing on fees etc).
Don't blame him, sad he's gone but don't blame him one little bit. It's a job at the end of the day, he's enjoyed his 3 years here and moving onto bigger and better things. Good luck to him Least we have Pope who has really matured and looks great now.
I woudn't blame any player for wanting to leave Charlton at present. The club is going down the plughole fast. Even Adolf's most loyal supporters knew when to flee the bunker. It is not necessarily a lack of ambition on his part. He may be confident enough to think he can displace Schmeichel at some point.
think the same - if i was a player there now i'd want out. i'm just a fan and i want out. missus is not renewing her ticket next year, thinking about asking for a refund. even getting ear bashings on saturday afternoons look more promising at the moment
