Has everyone voted for the Spurs GOTS on the OS? I voted for Sandro v Utd, but looks like it's going to be Siggy's fantastic goal v Hull - both peaches.
Compared the candidates for GOTS to last season and you can see why it was so boring to watch this season. Hopefully next year the standard of goals we score will be a lot better.
Sorry, on FB it shows the voting so far. First by a mile is the one you mention - Siggy's goal - next is Sandro's against Man Utd, which is a great goal also.
Maybe i'm too fussy but for me long range efforts smashed in that defenders could score shouldn't be rated anywhere near as highly as goals that require great technical ability.
When I reply with the quote included I can see the link to the video, but if I haven't 'replied with quote' then it just says not.606.com and cannot be clicked on. Anyone any ideas please?
Gylfi's for me, closely followed by Sandro's. The way Gylfi set himself up for the half volley was awesome and the strike was just sheer quality.
I always prefer the spectacular goals out of nothing, partly because they're more valuable. Like when Figueroa scored that freekick from inside his own half, there was no danger to the goal but Figeroa spotted a minescule chance of scoring, had the balls to take it and the ability to make it work.
Sandro I can't vote for, as that was the best miss-hit I have ever seen! Its either Holtby (in a move started by Tom Carroll) or Nacer Chadli.
Rather telling of our season that it's not til you get to goal 4 that there's one from the Premier League. Siggy's every time for me - when players pull off little turns like that it makes you wonder why they don't do it all the time - made it look very easy and the shot was incredible too.
I'd go for Gylfi's. I also prefer the goals where the quality is in more than the long-range strike. It seemed that almost all of Ade's goals this year (other than the one he poached from Kane, anyway) were very high quality, especially his volleys. It didn't look spectacular, but one of the best may have been his winner against Everton, the way he held up the ball against two defenders, had an excellent first touch, then beat both one of the defenders and the keeper. It was excellent play from a striker with his back to goal, got us a win against a team which really was better than us this year, and resulted from a ball that almost any other player wouldn't have been able to score from.
I know we've got lots of prediction threads these days but this isn't one of them Besides, next year's goal of the season will obviously be Soldado's final goal in his hattrick against Chelsea, when he arrogantly flicks Kane's 40 yard raking pass over Courtois' head whilst his hands are covering his eyes.
