Lewis Turner got 3 awards at the end of season awards for chester, deserves an extension not sure Taylor is actually that good but would probably give them 2 a new deal Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Taylor is very good ... needs a Byram type run in the seniors next season "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
We already know about the Turner twins, but guess we'll know the rest tomorrow ... Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY 4h #lufc It's expected that the list of players being retained by Leeds United for next season will be announced tomorrow afternoon.
MZ has been class 9/10 he's played. Wooton has a good solid start which was disrupted by injury followed by a terrible return at Rochdale although the last few matches he's been fairly okay and he's still fairly young the fact Man U kept hold of him until we bought him says it all. Hunt works his socks off every match. He has denied allegations he's on 25k a week (which seems ridiculously out of wack for even a squad player in the Premier League) which everyone seems to be taking as fact. I reckon if he hadn't played under BMD before he'd off been a fans favourite this season. Stewart is hit and miss although when he's on form he's pretty lethal. Byram has been ruined by Warnock playing him week in week out so unless you want to start blaming BMD for injuries aswell, Mowatt was looking pretty burned out towards the end of the season but he's class (to write off a 19 year old is pretty damn stupid tbqh). I reckon BMD is been made a scapegoat for this season. People are expecting him to be flawless and the only fans in the league that don't seem to rate him is us even the players are pretty universal in their support of him. We all recognised the need for width around December time and were delighted with signing Kebe and Stewart. If I was his position I'd be rather angry at our fans right now who seem to have turned their back on a manager who came back (despite been nationally humiliated), had no support from the owners, dealt professionally with rather open hostility towards him from MC ect. I reckon we're the only fan base in the country that expects a decent season following a takeover and a sacking and reinstatement of the manager.
este, McD has responded in writing to Cellino's request for next season's plan, so Massivo will have an idea who to keep and who to buy "For the sake of Leeds United he would break himself in two"
Agree that he's been made a scapegoat this year, because the circumstances have been difficult and the players have been pretty dire at times, but it's a results business and since Christmas we've probably been the worst form side in the football league, never mind the Championship. Some of his signings have been okay, but the majority have been questionable. He is reactive rather than proactive in his substitutions, and he still has no idea what formation he wants to play, let alone what players to use. I am prepared to give him another year, with a fresh start, because I do think the job was incredibly difficult. But he has plenty of flaws he needs to address, and pretty urgently.
Doh! Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY 6m #lufc I understand the retained list is now unlikely to be out today.
He might have a point here ... Gary Cooper ‏@BillyisGod 1h I am guessing here but I do think the retained list might be near the bottom of a mountain of problems right now?
As I understand it, the only obligation is to offer contracts by tomorrow. Thought Kissa would have put the retained list up here. He posted it on Twitter... Leeds United can confirm that seven senior professionals who are out of contract will not be offered new deals and will be released by the club. The released list includes Jamie Ashdown, Michael Brown, El-Hadji Diouf, Adam Drury, Paul Green, Danny Pugh and Luke Varney. United have taken up the option to extend the contracts of Alex Cairns and Afolabi Coker. Young professionals Charlie Taylor and Ross Killock have been offered new contracts at the club. In addition, young professionals Simon Lenighan, Nathan Turner, Lewis Turner, Richard Bryan, Smith Tiesse and Gboly Ariyibi will be released and will be able to find new clubs.
Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY 1m #lufc No news from club yet as to any contracted players being made available for transfer.
This is an interesting one ... Adam Pope ‏@APOPEY 1h @bazzswann @PhilHayYEP I was told a few months ago that out of contract players would save club £3m pa.
