Our finishing position says otherwise, there is a good reason he runs the club and you don't.

The quote in the OP is just 3 sentences stuck together from the full quote giving quite a negative spin to what was actually said. Please see below to get the full picture.

"I think a shake-up is needed - and whatever number we manage to bring in, whether it's two, three, four or five players, they need to be first-team starters. That's where we are at.

"It's all well and good having 20, 25 players in the squad, but we need to improve the starting XI - and I don't think anybody would argue with that.

"Some people have said we signed too many players from Spain last year, but ultimately it doesn't matter where they come from, as long as they are good enough it will be fine.

"I think the only thing you would say about the squad in general is that a lot of the players we brought in last year didn't make the starting XI. The change we need to make is to ensure they are good enough."

He added: "We'll always be looking in the market for players at the right price and we've got to judge, whether it's a £2million Michu or a £12million Wilfried Bony (their record signing), whether it's right for the club at the time.

"We'll always weigh up those decisions and take them as they come.

"With the new management in place, there needs to be new motivation in the squad and we all need to be going forward in a different way next year.

"We need to make sure we achieve that by getting the right mixture of the squad."

Much more balanced than the quote in the OP and provides a much more realistic and positive message regarding the work that we'll be doing in the transfer market this year.

Again, I fully agree with what he says. He states the bloody obvious in that we should only sign players that improve the team. If we can get 3-4 players that improve the first 11 then we'll have a strong squad next season.

I know the full quote as I read it on the skysports website, I still don't like it though. There is a way to say it, and I don't agree with his little dig about last seasons acquisitions, there was no need for that part.

Don't expect balanced from Seabreeze, a cerebral palsy sufferer has more balance than him. He had to change his username after just a few months of joining because his opinions draw much ridicule.

If the right offers come in for ANY of our players HJ will sell, make no bones about it. Anyone who thinks differently is deluding themselves.

You can rap that up which ever way you like, but he is saying that some of what we signed under Laudrup were not good enough, and it won't be happening again, that much is obvious, and to me I think it is negative, and not up-building for the harmony of the squad, especially given the issues we have had with the squad in training this season, but he had better be careful as maybe Chico will throw a brick through the windscreen of his little sMerc!..................<laugh>

Huw was a model chairman in any league up till this season .........he was a chump this season and my biggest concern is he is now stepping into a role that he knows nothing about , control of a manager and the repercussions of the ignorance involved . And project , dont make fun of the unfortunates , especially me .

Reminds me of the time when Putin became prime minister of Russia, while Medvedev was president; until Putin could be elected back into presidency...

This forum is turning into an absolute joke...

People calling this season a nightmare?! Were you even here 10 years ago?! Surely if you had any vested interest in the Swans at turn of the millennium you'd not think this season was a nightmare? The 2002-2003 season was a nightmare. The 2000-2001 season was a nightmare relegation season. The entirety of the 90s (bar a workman-like promotion in 1999-2000) was a nightmare.

Bloody hell... We just finished 12th in the Premier League, own 4 players potentially going to the World Cup, had our longest run in Europe in our history, and we've got money in abundance to strengthen our squad for next season.

Huw is a new football chairman in the grand scheme of things. But, quite simply, we wouldn't be where we are without him and the rest of the board. In fact, Swansea wouldn't even exist. We'd have been relegated and probably liquidated. On the whole, Huw hasn't put a foot wrong, and it's questionable whether the decision to sack Laudrup was even classified as a mistake (although the manner in which he sacked him definitely was). It's about time people showed a bit of gratitude to Huw and the board. He's going to make a few mistakes along the way as he is new to football at the highest level. He's done such an incredible job over the last 10 years that we've actually got used to our board not making mistakes. Well time to get your heads out of your arses and smell the coffee people... Football chairmen aren't there to please everyone, the fact that Huw and the board have somehow pleased pretty much everyone for almost a decade is starting to cloud people's vision of the truth.

Let me pose a realistic question to you, who would you want as chairman instead of Huw Jenkins?

No I would not, however, maybe others need to get their head out of the sand, and remember, that even though Huw has been chairman and got us here, he is not infallible. I have praised him when he is in the right, I have criticised him when he is in the wrong. Maybe you should remember that not all of us are 1 way or the other, we don't only kiss his arse, or condemn him. We have an open view point of both good and bad.

After all, if you constantly pick on a person, you're never going to see the good.
If your always looking at the good of a person, you're never going to see the bad.

Those who look at both are IMO the ones who have the best viewpoint. As they are not afraid to pick up on both good and bad.

Hopefully the facts will see the light of day soon so that everything can then be put to bed and everyone then can form their opinions rather than have to form opinions based on speculation and conjecture.

Indeed, and that's why I look at both sides. I know Huw isn't God. But for all someone's failings, sometimes you have to realise when you've got a keeper. Look at the chairmen around the Premier League - there's so few that I'd want at Swansea. Huw's going to make mistakes down the line, we're going to complain and argue decisions (I do often as, like you, I say it as I see it), but at no point should we be ridiculing him in a way that I've seen some do on this forum recently. On the whole, I'm preaching to the converted, but sometimes it only takes a small amount of rot to bring down a tower. For some on here, they must realise that there's a difference between disagreeing and holding a vendetta.

Calling you the biggest optimist I've ever known is getting to be a habit <laugh>

Would the facts have come to light by now if they're ever going to?! Fingers crossed for a leak or a memoir at least.

Have to remain optimistic that the truth will eventually come out

If the facts do not come out, the only indicator left would be to see if a Laudrup pursues legal action or not.

He got no chance valley, there is far to much against him by the players let alone Jenkins waving his signed contract in front of any court that he never stuck too...He got no chance...
