Bruce has already said we aren't looking to buy a striker, so we wouldn't be interested. I agree he's a good player though.
I don't think Bruce is going to tell the world what/who he wants to sign for City. He'll just tell people what they want to hear. i.e.: Ferdinand, Giggs
He never actually said he wanted to sign them for real, he was just joking that players of that quality are out of contract. And Bruce did actually say, in his own words, that we aren't looking at the front line this Summer. Why would we? We spent £14m in January on two of the buggers, plus we just brought in a non-league hotshot striker. So technically that's 3 this year!
I'd be over the moon with all 3 of these. Add Livermore and another CB and we'd be formidable. Looking at around £30mil for a shopping list of 5 players at their level I reckon.
Also, aside from the big names there are some decent free agents this year. Chamack, Brunt and Kieron Westwood.
If DQPR dont beat Derby then they will have far far bigger worries than what they get for Charlie Austin. He wont get anywhere near what Man City paid him. He talks about going abroad - Besiktas in Turkey is one club being linked. On the playing side he would be great for us as he can play left centre-back or left back. If anyone can get him here then Brucie can. Not worth £3m. We can get Assombalonga from the Posh for much less and he his alot quicker. Quicker than Gayle who Palace signed from the Posh. btw.... The likes of Lescott(lb/cb) - Turner(cb) - Billy Jones(rf/b) - Larsson(cm/rw/rfb) - Beausajour(lw) are all free agents and would be good additions to what we have already for next season.
1. Lescott - no. Too expensive and to be honest, Davies is better. 2. Billy Jones - saw him against WBA twice and thought he was awful. 3. Larsson - Now THAT would be a good signing. He's a Brucey man too (Birmingham and Sunderland). 4. Beausejor - Someone will have to convince me he'd be a good signing. Lastly Michael Turner - Sorry but I don't want him back. Not a par on what we have any more. It's a shame to see because he is one of my all time favourites at the club, but signing him would almost be like getting Mike Edwards back; a free agent who did well for City in the past. We should be looking at better.
What a shocker that is. Who saw that coming then ? Will Giggs carry on playing though ? Ed WooWar(CEO) confirms that Man Utd will suffer a drop in income of at least £30m by being out of europe.
Agree completely. We can do much better than him. Although I think Billy Jones is better than you give him credit for.
I could have seen him on two off days, but I remember the WBA away game and he was the home fans' MOTM and every City fan there had a befuddled look on their face, as their MOTM was surely Ben Foster that day (made 2/3 fantastic saves to deny us).
I've had SSN on all day* and haven't seen anything announced. *I'm working on my dissertation, not just unemployed and dossing, honest.
Oh come on he has still got what it takes and would be a great addition to what we have. Plus he is a free agent. Turner has had some great performances since Hughton left with little around him. As for Van Gaal. Ed Woodward mentioned at a shareholders meeting today that Van Gaal was the new manager but it would not be made official until a few minor details were sorted out.
Pretty sure that's not true. SSN are reporting that he refused to comment on the management position other than to say that it will be sorted in due course.
Sorry sir, but I have to disagree. Davies and Chester have outperformed him this year, and Turner wouldn't want to come as a number 2 - or 3 in this case. Need to stop looking at the past, and move on to the future.
Nothing to do with the past. But Turner can be a good part of the future. As it looks likely that Faye will go this summer then Turner is a massive upgrade on him. But each to there own.
