Let's face it we arent going to win the world cup but we do have a good opportunity to give some experience to our talented youngsters some of whom could be world class when the next euros and world cup come around. It'll never happen but for me over rated Rooney would be played from the bench. Baines and Gerrard would get the nod over Shaw and Henderson for now as we will need abit of experience mixed in there.

    Id go

    -----------------Hart-----------------
    Walker----Cahill------Jagielka---Baines
    ------Barkley--Gerrard--Wilshere------
    Sterling--------Sturridge--------Lallana

Think that will be the back 5 but imagine itll be more like this at the business end :-/

    -----------Gerrard----Wilshere-----------
    Milner---------Lampard----------Welbeck
    ----------------Rooney-------------------

if he picks Milner and Lampard in the starting 11, we'll be screwed even quicker than we would otherwise

Any team that had young Jordan in it.

Play him all the time, get to the final and win it, be class to have a world cup winner from Sunderland.

    Good luck Jordan

Walker's not off, so stick somebody else in for him, has to be Johnson unfortunately.

Gerrard sitting in front of the back 4 as per his Liverpool role, Wilshere out, Rooney in and mix up the front 5 a bit. Personally I'd have Milner in for Sterling for his work rate defensively, and his versatility but I'd have Sterling on at some point, impact sub probably with 25 mins left. I just think with Barkley in alongside him there's too much attacking freedom on that side and Barkley is by far the better player, Milner will add discipline.

I'd have Barkley and Lallana though, first two names on the team sheet for me, we have to try something different this time, I think Rooney will work well with Lallana.

    Maybe a controversial one but...

Looking at how poor our back 4 is, particularly Jagielka, is anybody not disappointed that Roy Hodgson didn't manage to talk Terry out of retirement?

Don't get me wrong, the bloke's a **** obviously but he's been by far and away the best CB in the Premier League this season and his partnership with Cahill is brilliant.

For me Jagielka offers nothing solid at the back, he's the weakest link in any side I could name in that 23 man squad imo.

No I do, we have alot of quick young and fit players at our disposal and that will have a bearing in the brazil heat.

I just hope he gives the likes of sturridge sterling and barkley plenty of game time.

Least it's not the same old guard who let England down each and every year - who, before a ball has even been kicked you know will be a major let down. Germany did it with youth, and they defo look a very good contender for lifting the cup. Good to see England giving youth a chance. But as a Scot/Aussie, its gotta be ABE for me :p

Can,t see England doing much, yes quite a few young quick ones but defo not enough class, will get battered if we have 3 man midfield without someone sweeping up behind them! 1 round after group at best
