Well it's not Sandro, Eriksen, Townsend, Rose, Walker, Capoue, Kane, Adebayor (?), Lennon, Kaboul, Dawson, Chiches, Soldado, Naughton, Siggurdsen So that leaves Paulinho, Vertonghen, Lloris, Dembele, Chadli, Bentaleb
Bentaleb could be sold. On paper we have too many MF of the same young age group. Will be interesting to see how Dembele and Chadli do this summer. The weather will vindicate Chadlis' pedestrian style (if he gets his crosses in) .
If Poncho becomes manager then I would expect most to stay as he will be similar to Avb. happy to accept what he has for the first year, plus hes shown at saints he isn't shy of giving youth a chance, thats why hes a favourite as Levy doesn't want someone to walk in and make wholesale changes, he keeps talking about us having a talented squad, hinting the manager has to work with the current squad, which isn't a major problem if hes also allowed to make key signings to compliment the squad in place.
Does he give youth a chance or was he just fortunate they have a great academy and that the team he was left wasn't all that so he took the risk. At Spurs it's different as we have plenty of older players that i'm sure he would keep and play. For me playing youngsters isn't a priority, I just want us to be as good as possible.
I would say he gives youth a chance as he strikes me as someone who is happy to give youth players a chance to impress, but the real test will be if he takes over a bigger club, as thats when you see just how much courage a manager has to start with youth players when under pressure to also get results.
If he did come in he could do Saints another "favour" and bring 2 or 3 with him. Lallana and Shaw would walk into our team.
and Clyne as backup to walker, Fonte and Lovren as squad players and just to keep you and SOS happy, Jay Rod & Lambert as the unfashionable players who could come off the bench!
Haha, Jay Rod yes please. I think Lambert is a good player but he's getting on a bit. (assuming Jay Rod gets over his injury)
Unfashionable? Pfft. Lambert would win European Golden Boot if he was with us, while Jay Rod would win the Ballon d'Or.
Ah ok. Tbh, if i was him and the club (Saints not Spurs) gave him the assurance they weren't gonna sell the top players then i would stay put.
Laudrups a good shout as if you look at his time at swansea he made some good signings like Michu, Bony, Chico, Hernandez, Shelvey. Hiddink is a ambitious target!
