i know its already been picked up on by others but this comment really is bizarre. the fact he appears to top (or at least be near the top) of west ham, west brom's and norwich's list of candidates shows he's sought after because he's a good manager. had he never played for norwich i reckon he'd still be interviewed for the job
i'm not one for defending carrabuh but i've never seen him post anything about booing our own players
i've lost track of this thread a little but has anyone mentioned the fact the evening news did a poll about who fans would like as their new manager and the winner was ralf rangnick! i'd suggest almost everyone who voted had never even heard of him before they voted. i know he was linked years ago but clearly he isn't going to come here. isn't he 'owned' by red bull too? so if he takes over another club he brings the red bull name with him, or have i dreamt that? i'm sure there is something qwerky regarding his position. anybody know the details?
Completely agree I find it odd that people call Malky a negative manager based on the 0-0 at Carrow Road, and then go on to hail Lennon's heroics in the Champions League - which was one of the biggest parking of bus exercises I've ever seen! Fair enough, with such an inferior squad as Celtic had they were never going to be rampantly attacking, and they did what they had to do and they did it well, but it's surely not right to praise one guy to doing exactly the same as the other guy is being pilloried for is it?
people can talk about a mickey mouse league or whatever, but people forget that although celtic are easily the best team in that league, they still have to turn up and win their games each week. motivation has never been a problem while lennon has been in charge and though, of course, you'd expect them to win the league at a canter (and they do), they very rarely fail to produce the goods. until he's tested in a different league we'll never know how good or bad he is but the champions league results suggest he has something. if its a toss up between lennon and malky, as others have said, i don't mind which we get - i'll be fairly pleased. could we have found someone better? i think relegation meant that was unlikely.
http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/252824-From-Favourite-To-Villain-(Villan)-In-One-Fell-Swoop We all say things in the heat of the moment, I'm sure he didn't mean it.
thanks, so it was in relation to the non-story about him failing to celebrate? he wasn't the only person to go totally over the top in their reaction
He actually created this thread on the Tuesday night, three days after the game and the 'incident' had been fully dissected http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/252797-Wes-Hoolahan
Fella at work is a big Aberdeen fan and he doesn't rate him at all and thinks he'll struggle south of the border, Celtic only beat Aberdeen once this season.
just to add, i wouldn't be against zola either, although i do think he's the weakest candidate of the three (if we assume the shortlist comprises mackay, lennon, zola, and adams who i'm completely dismissing)
Give Lennon a go if he will come. boy he will have a point to prove and that's what we need right now to get the players up for it.
when you hear all the positivity about derek mcinnes and stuart mccall north of the border it does show the league up because neither manager, in my opinion, is talented so it is easy to throw lennon into the same bracket. i've backed malky since relegation - i think he's the most sensible choice, the least risky, the most likely to get us in the top six at the first time of asking, the most likely to unite the fans, the most likely to get all the players onside and the most likely to ultimately get us promoted. i personally don't think it will be lennon - i've said that for some time - but i think its his character which attracts our club to him (lambert-esque) and he has, no matter how anybody wants to dress it up, had tremendous success and does possess a winning mentality which would rub off on everyone. that should not be dismissed completely just because of the league. and he has had some unbelievable results in europe - and some piss poor ones
