    The Mirror
"Hull are offering Steve Bruce a bumper new contract.

Bruce is in talks about extending his current deal and picking up extra wages and bonuses as a reward for breathing new life into the club.

The boss – bound to be linked with jobs in the managerial merry-go-round – is ready to commit to the Tigers - if the terms are right.

Bruce joined the Humbersiders when they were in the Championship, took them up, kept them safe from relegation and threw in the bonus of Saturday's Wembley showpiece.

The owners are grateful and want to give the former Manchester United captain a deal that will put him on a basic of £50,000 a week.

Bruce would also get extra money for keeping Hull up from next season onwards, increasing his current incentives.

The Geordie has often moved on during his career and Hull are aware that his reputation is high.

But both parties are confident that a new deal can be agreed – ideally, after celebrating a Wembley victory at the weekend".

    Transfer Tavern
"Ferdinand has had his first offer since leaving Manchester United and it’s one that will leave Hull City fans in the Football Transfer Tavern more than happy/

According to the Daily Mail, Tigers gaffer Steve Bruce has admitted he’s cast his eyes on the situation and may contact the player’s agent after the FA Cup Final against Arsenal this weekend"..

    Get him signed up!!

Anyone know what he is on now? Or what 50,000 a week looks like as far as other managers go?

The salary will surely be including incentives. We're not in the 50k a week bracket yet are we?

I think it was pretty clear from the Cup Final presser that Brucie said the Ferdinand stuff with his tongue somewhat in his cheek.

I bet he wishes he'd never made that joke about Ferdinand, it's being reported everywhere as an actual news story. <doh>

Funny you should say that. Prior to the Everton game he read out City's team and then said there was one disappointment in the arse, paused, then said he was getting ahead of himself and went on to read the Everton team.
