McNally on support for the new boss…
“We’re going to look at our football management structure again, to ensure that we are focussing the football manager on managing the first-team and coaching the first-team. We’ll strengthen the structure so we’re not at the mercy of a manager on all things to do with our future. We will look at how we can ensure that if we do need to strengthen, then that’s what we do. I think we’re having a good look at it this week. We’ll announce in due course, probably around the time that the manager is in place which is a sensible time to firm up on the management structure, but I do think there are perhaps one or two individuals here where too much of the weight of the key decisions of the football club rest on their shoulders.”

Am I the only one who thinks the last sentence could also be aimed at Deliah and Michael, particularly in reference to McNallys supposed desire to sack CH in Dec/Jan, and their alleged reluctance....? Just a thought....

Anyway I'm hoping for Lennon; however, whomever gets the job gets my support 100%

As we enter Thursday, and no announcement so far, I think it is safe to assume that NA is not the first choice for the board - sigh of relief for many I am sure <ok>

The daily fail reporting Malky was in negotiations with McNally yesterday.

During Malkys promotion season with Cardiff, no player managed to get into double figures. The more I read about him, the more I don't want him as manager.

Can't help seeing Hughton similarities here. I'll back whoever McNally rates but I'm finding it hard to get excited about Malky.

Yes the Lennon train is certainly in motion let us see what today brings btu his stock with us has risen and Malky's seems to have slipped. Going back to Munky's point yesterday though, my inclination to Lennon isn't about Celtic in the SPL (as it is a one horse town) but the way he has got everything from his team and his performances in Europe. His man management skills have been tested and he has come through with flying colours. True, Mackay did really well overall at Cardiff and you are right in that maybe too much has been put on the performance at CR (which was poor you have to say) but there it is Lennon takes the popular vote I think but will it get him the gig? Stay tuned.......

I hope we do actually hear sooner rather than later. McNally came in for some criticism last season, so the last thing we need is for him to make a bold, but ultimately hollow claim. It's more ammunition for those who want him out.

At the dinner the other night, McNally says he wants to see exciting, attacking football with goals back at carrow road again next season. Malky will not bring that in my eyes.

He left Schalke due to stress if I remember rightly. Not sure what he's up to now as he's not in a managerial position in the Bundesliga.

    I don't think it's Neil.

It's simply taking too long for it to be him.

    ?

They were third highest scorers in the division, just one goal behind Palace. Had the second best defence too.

No fewer than eight players scored 5+ goals under him, with 17 goal scorers across the whole squad... If nothing else this tells us he gets them playing as a team.

Yes, no-one got double figures, but, of his strikers:
    - Frazier Campbell got 7 goals from 12 appearances
    - Gestede got 5 goals from 27 appearances (of which 22 were off the bench), which works out as a goal every 182 minutes, or one in two
    - Mason got 6 goals from 28 appearances (of which 16 were off the bench), which works out as a goal every 225 minutes, or one goal in every two and a half games
    - Helguson got 8 goals in 38 appearances (of which 11 were off the bench), which works out as a goal every 290 minutes, or one goal in three

So really only Tommy Smith's 1 goal in 23 appearances (5 from the bench) is a disappointing record, though he's more of a winger. I'd also say Bellamy's 4 in 33 is respectable, given that he brought more to the team than goals and he's not an out-and-out striker either.

I've got my reservations about Malky's style, but I don't doubt his ability to get players playing as a team, scoring lots of goals and doing well in the Championship...

More to the point, he's getting his strikers to score despite extensive rotation and lack of consistency, which also means he's able to keep a large squad pretty happy

Really??? What, we wouldn't be interested in the guy who won the Championship the previous year, reached the League Cup final (and play-offs) the year before that and had Cardiff out of the bottom three at the point of his sacking??? <yikes>

Barmy comment, makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and I'm afraid I just do not understand all these people who don't want Malky here and can only think it's because of the 0-0 at Carrow Road last season which is absolutely bloody ridiculous if true! Mustn't forget that in that game, despite us peppering their goal with 31 shots it was Cardiff who actually had the best chance of the match, drawing another of those 'save of the season' contenders from John Ruddy as he brilliantly denied Frazier Campbell.
