Almost got the impression that the journo was feeding him more line as AA seemed to be getting more and more strident. That's what the papers do: they set people up and then knock them down.
I could kill you for this. I was told at school i was good for nothing and would come to nothing. Thats a lot to live up to!!
Aged 13 my school report said "could do better". Aged 14 my school report said "sorry, we were wrong".
I wondered that earlier and tweeted Oliver Brown to ask when it was done, but he hasn't responded. Bit naughty if it is, the references to the FA Cup final suggest it's new.
It has to be new. He has been given an opportunity to decline a pre-FA Cup final interview, or to accept it; he chose to accept it. He was asked questions he did not need to answer, but he did. He continues with his same old sham of an argument that elevates him to a position of decency, fairness and integrity; the sham continues. The same fool posts to defend him; once a fool .. . . What's it like on those fences, lads? I agree, you don't have to buy anything from him and I won't. I look forward to the day I will be able to re-enter a KC Stadium of a club owned by someone other than this charlatan. Don't be foolish enough to think he is the fool, he is not, there is an end game.
The problem is that a small percentage of owners of clubs in the two top tiers in England, will be just as bad and in some cases worse than Assam Allam. Majeski at Reading has lost £300m and is sitting on a club that is not producing the results needed to fund itself. The Glaziers took a lot of stick, Ashley has come out and said "Silverware we don't care" and Vincent Tan is well, Vincent Tan. It is in reality a mess and the fact is that no matter how generous Assem Allam is, no matter what reason for wanting a name change, he believes he is right and the money in his pocket is what he relies on to maintain that. The only way to stop him bleating on about the name change is to buy him out. That is what he is saying. Now until the money is on the table, there is nothing to do. The supporters have to put up with him for as long as he holds the purse strings. There is a chance that he will sell to someone who is actually worse, has anyone ever thought of that?
I think the thing is he agrees to do an interview about the club and the FA Cup, then of course the journalist asks a question about Hull Tigers and that brings it up again, I don't think he purposely goes out to get in the papers again about Hull Tigers. However when the subject does come up he can't resist having a rant again, he can't be normal and say "We've got an FA Cup final Saturday I'd rather talk about that"
Take away the football stuff and Assem Allam is a star.....I know he is loved in the queens centre at Castle Hill . He is without doubt a generous man . I really hope he drops the name change stuff..
Omega - yes, far too many people have theorised that the next owner would be worse than Allam but that's stupid. You can't just ignore everything he's done by saying it could be worse. We are stuck with him of course, and I think people are putting up with his crap already, but that doesnt mean we can't disagree with it and protest against it.
