yep, i think kemp might be right.

there's little question that neil lennon has topped mcnally's wish list for quite some time. the big question is, do the press (reporting it) have any inkling at all whether he'd take it or are they speculating on the knowledge that lennon tops the list?

we'll probably find out by friday (although we might not!)

It is funny that Lennon was noone's real favourite when the debate was raging towards the end of last season and was certainly not mine. But slowly everyone has started to focus on him and I feel there is something of a groundswell and a unification of fans gathering behind him. Time will tell but I am hopeful that this might be the end result, it is all about getting the deal sorted, covering all eventualities. Possibly with Adams as a number 2?

I'd rather have Malky personally, he's proven at Championship level whereas Lennon is only proven at Mickey Mouse level (ok, with the odd great result in the Champions League chucked in).

I'm not so bothered by Malky Munky. To me he will bring nothing different to CH and his Cardiff side set up a real backs to the wall job at CR which would not excite most of the faithful over a season. He is thought well of because of his playing career with us and was a little hard done to as we jettisoned him when we got promotion to the PL, so he has the sympathy vote there. I just feel Lennon may hold more credibility in terms of stature and possibly help to keep some of our better players, players that we will need to get back up.

I personally think Lennon will be the cat amongst the pidgeons that our players need.

He won't be scared to front up to anyone that's not pulling their weight that's for sure. Wonder if he might take it too far though.

He seems to have earned the respect of the players at Celtic, so I'd imagine he has a balanced approach.

For me it's Lennon, if we can get him.

Wouldn't be disappointed with Malky though.

I dunno, in his first two seasons with Cardiff he reached the play-offs (losing to West Ham), he reached the League Cup final (losing on penalties to Liverpool) and then won the Championship title - not sure if he, or in fact anyone, could have done much better than that to be honest, a fantastic record at the level we are now competing at. I think it's very harsh to dismiss him as a negative manager purely based on one performance at Carrow Road last season, which is what I see people doing.

Yes, Lennon has had major success in Scotland with Celtic, but how hard could that have been in the past few seasons without even Rangers as competition? Celtic are the only club north of the border with any kind of money to spend, they are a different class to every other Scottish team so for me he still has a lot to prove and does represent a gamble as far as I'm concerned.

Malky for me, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if it was Lennon

Going back to McNally's comments about the managerial structure, is it just me that thinks the only reason we'd do that is if it's going to be a fairly odd appointment?

Few experienced managers have worked with a DoF before, so I could see them not being keen to start now. Whilst an inexperienced manager, or one from abroad might be more amenable to it.

Unless the structure comments have been misread and it'll be a more subtle change.

I have to say I don't think we'll go too far wrong with either Lennon or Malky. I think Lennon has done some brilliant business with Celtic, they've signed some great players but Malky is more experienced in the Championship. If it's either of them two I think they'll be a good appointment.

i'd be amazed if sherwood is on the shortlist. he's the complete opposite of what they are looking for.

    THANK GOD

i must admit i was apprehensive about a move for lennon initially but that may be due to my rangers bias. i wouldn't argue against his ability as a manager (and never have, i think he's got 'something') and maybe seeing his actions at the weekend with the young fan has made me soften to him as a person. my main reservation with him has always been (and will continue to be) about his conduct on the sidelines because i fear he would spend more time sitting in the stands suspended than on the touchline.

i still don't think we'll get him mind!

this is my main concern with what my friend told me. he is still adamant the gig is going to adams. it frightens me to think what could happen if he gets the job.

lets hope its a case of putting two and two together...

My choice would be Sherwood, not a real City legend if it goes wrong. I like his attacking style and isn't afraid to speak out. However, the more I think about Lennon, the more I think he will be a a Lambert type manager. No links to the club, he won't mess about and has a striker waiting to fire in Hooper.

Did anyone hear Colin on Talksport earlier today?

He was saying that managers cannot say what they think nowadays and that players have all the power, and that Sherwood should remember this in future.

Now then, for me, when Colin says that managers should not be saying what they think, then things are bad <yikes>

I find it completely bizarre that McNally comes out and says we can't take risks and we've got to get this transfer window right etc.... Then goes into the following season with Adams in charge.
