The Reds last met Ireland's most successful club side - with 17 league titles - 32 years ago in a friendly match at Milltown. That game, on November 23, 1982, ended in a 1-1 draw, with Ian Rush scoring for the Reds and Jim Beglin - who would go on to become Bob Paisley's final signing - playing for the Hoops. Borini is back with the Reds following a successful spell at Sunderland, during which he fired 10 goals in 40 appearances. Meanwhile, Ibe spent the latter part of 2013-14 on loan at Birmingham City, where he helped them retain their Championship status, making 11 appearances and netting one goal. Senior stars Daniel Agger, Joe Allen, Philippe Coutinho, Lucas Leiva and Martin Skrtel have also made the trip for the game. You can watch Liverpool's post-season friendly against Shamrock at the Aviva Stadium live on LFCTV GO from 5pm BST. Click here for more information. Liverpool squad in full: Agger, Allen, Aspas, Borini, Brannagan, Coady, Coutinho, Dunn, Ibe, Jones, Kelly, Lussey, McLaughlin, Paez, Peterson, Lucas, Randall, Skrtel, Smith, Trickett Smith, Teixeira, Ward, Williams.
I'd wondered if someone would do a match thread for this game. Quality. Looking forward to seeing some of our younger players trying to force their way into our squad.
The Reds' starting XI: Jones, McLaughlin, Kelly, Paez, Smith, Lucas, Allen, Coady, Ibe, Borini, Aspas.
I guess the standard 4-3-3 with Ibe Borini Aspas all interchanging. Anyone know what the point of this friendly is?

Good to see! We have someone on the book named Paez? Not familiar with him... What position is he? Any good?
Raphael Paez. 19-year-old Spanish centre back. Not seen too much from him, TBH. When I have seen him, he's done okay, but it's sometimes hard to say whether younger players will progress as we expect / hope.
Is the Italian season completely over? To answer myself... no... just checked. Reina isn't going to leave Italy and be recalled from loan early just to play a friendly in Ireland.
