The Independent have done some digging and found out that Poch has the same agent as Bale. If that counts for anything.

Yeah but is a club going to fork an xtra 2mill, and then bonuses plus basic wage....its then making that a very expensive contract over its term, maybe a cost too far, very clever by Mr Cortese

It's the same amount they would have had to pay us. The only difference is Cortese has to pay it himself, so Spurs would just have to give him the money directly first. They might not be keen to do that I suppose, so it best it adds a bit of extra negotiating to be done.

Are signing on payments taxable? I assume so and that would mean Spurs have to pay Poch £2m net. Pricy!

Neil Warnock has told talkSPORT that Mauricio Pochettino is not big or experienced enough to handle the Tottenham job.
Spurs are on the lookout for a new manager having sacked Tim Sherwood after just six months in charge on Tuesday and the Southampton boss is considered one of the favourites to land the role.
But former QPR manager, Warnock, is unsure whether the Argentine has the right credentials to take the north London club forward.
"I don’t think Pochettino is the answer because he’s inexperienced," he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show. "To go to a club like Southampton, and I’m not being disrespectful to Southampton, there’s no expectation.
"They’ve got young lads and they’re going to sell one here or there whereas at Spurs there’s so much expectation. Harry [Redknapp] got them fourth and they’ve been trying to get fourth ever since and they've been thinking they were doing the right thing sacking all these managers.
"I don’t think Pochettino's got enough about him. It’s too big a club for him to warrant getting that job. It’s a massive gamble if [Daniel] Levy does it but he might be the only one available

I agree with that statement 100%. Not just wishful thinking, but just think it's true. If he got Saints into Europe, or got further in a cup, fair enough, but he didn't, and both were there for the taking too. We had a great season, but was still one with no milestones reached, other than records broken. He definitely made a few dodgy decisions.

Regardless, I believe he will stay if the club offer assurances - and the fact that they don't seem to be is making me very anxious. This is what I loved about Cortese the dreamer/visionary, and don't like so far about realists/pragmatists like Krueger. This is assuming the worst, of course, but they can still prove me wrong by what their plan is if any of that does happen.

Got a Spurs fan saying that Poch will be with them within 48 hours. It has been leaked from the Spurs board supposedly.

No idea if he is correct or not, hopefully he is not.
