Pistorius trial delayed again - he's been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation for a minimum of 30 days.

 

Pistorius has always sounded unstable...he was paranoid about being burgled and was always fannying around with guns...remember he discharged a gun in a restaurant. He was an accident waiting to happen. He either killed her as he said because he thought she was a burgler...in which case, he fired a gun wildly and without a threat to himself...remember that they showed in court that he could easily have got out as he had to pass a door to get to the bathroom. Or he killed her in a rage without thought...of course he was upset afterwards...probably wished he could turn the clock back. So he is guilty of murder or reckless endangerment (or whatever equivalent to that charge they have in South Africa).

 

Hants making what should be an easy target hard work. 42/3 chasing 67 to win.

 

Never in doubt with Vince at the wicket, good win overall for Hants.
Abbott looks a class signing, but Gatting is looking a bit vunerable in the middle order, apparently Benkenstein is registered to play in a worst case scenario.

 

Yep have to say I'm not convinced by Coles either. Still early days and a wins a win.

 

Vince must be close to an England call up. Thats well over 500 runs already this season.

 

Hope not. We need him at Hants, especially as Carberry has been called up for England.

 

Gatting is ****, I expect Wood will come in for him when he's fit, Coles is a good player though.

 

Is Briggs injured?

 

Briggs is not playing because we have Dawson as a Batsman/Spinner and we are playing the extra Seamer as early season wickets are more conducive to seam and swing bowling.

So Wood in and push Ervine up to #6, Tom?....Apparently McManus scored back to back centuries last week, maybe he will get a chance if Vince gets picked for England, I agree with you, I'd rather have him at Hants this season to get us promoted.

Can't wait to see Maxwell in the T20 this season, he has been on fire in the IPL, but it looks like he will miss Hants' first 4 games.

 

McManus did score two centuries but not sure how good opposition was.

Stephen Sutton, the 19 year old with cancer and raised more than £3.2 million for the Teenage Cancer Trust has died.

 

He set out to raise 10k originally. He did well, bless him; very courageous.

 

He has left a tremendous legacy.....still very sad news, RIP
