F.E.S.N .....I like it I wonder what gems they have in store for us next? After the footballing genius that was C0ck...sorry.... Koc, and the Hungarian League Two full back ? Maybe a centre half from Albania, and a goalie from Greenland?
I'm neither amazed nor surprised that some people are nonchalant over (insert the name of anything that resembles a quality footballer) going, it satisfies the sensibilities of the "we will succeed against all the odds" supporter, and there's a few of them knocking about... Of course, an influx of new talent may well be on its way, but going by the evidence to date, that's not a given...
Agreed, the Corinthian spirit is alive and well amongst the "little ol' Charlton" crew. I believe Curbs himself took to using this phrase as a mock reference to this mob. Their totemic footballer, the epitome of their beliefs, is none other than "the Duracell Bunny" himself - Bradley 'No Ability, But Ticks A Lot Of Boxes' Pritchard. A modern day Steve Gritt, albeit wearing cement boots.
Roley is winning some fans over because he's investing in kids & giving us a pitch to play on, but the bottom line is what's on the pitch come August...
Nonchalant? No. He was poor up until the run in - the same as the year before. 1 year deals will do that to a player.
Gomez is not a punt... he is built like a German ****house but with considerably more speed..... does he need 20 games on loan somewhere? Did Solly? Did Poyet? Did Cousins? Give him experience by playing Championship football.
I would agree with you, Dervite has been overlooked and come on in leaps and bounds perhaps the new managerial appointment galvanised him so his form improved. He had some poor games but don't they all and was eliminating mistakes and gaining in confidence and being more consistent so this will be a major loss in my view. Not the sort of player who should be allowed to leave, one you would expect them to make every effort to keep!
Curbs used this phrase to describe the F.A.'s condescending attitude when we were forced to play Chelsea on their desert, which we only found out about less than 2 hours before the match. Since then it has been used completely out of context by fans such as your good self and Iwan. My other favourite phrase is "Ra-ra Brigade", which I'm sure you remember from "Your Views".
If he had the genuine prospect of playing Championship football next season it might persuade him to sign a pro contract with us. He is mature beyond his years and would do well. We must learn the lessons from the Diego Poyet business, when his talent was overlooked because it was wrongly assumed he wasn't ready.
It seems Dervite signed a three year deal with Bolton yesterday...... he is in for a bit of a surprise when he realises what a **** hole Bolton is !
http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/sport/...73m_jackpot_in_Premier_League_debut_campaign/ RD needs to read this and then re-assess his strategy. we're bigger and better than them, we have better facilities, a better youth team and a strong history.
