Has just been on about going to the Premier after a great stint with Athletico.
He would be the ideal substitute for Steve - no compensation and a no nonsense boss ( ask Forlan ).
He'd be the ideal man to kick us on and bring something different to SAFC. He might also be able to persuade some very tasty players to join him.
    Go for it, Shorty!

just taken that off the SMB

    his managerial record

    Valencia - 110games - 52% win percentage
    Benfica - 44games - 57% win percentage - domestic league cup winner
Atletico Madrid - 76games - 41% win percentage - europa league winner, super cup winner, copa del ray runner up

would be ideal to take us forward but with Quinny at the club I think we will always go for a British manager.

Is it just me or is none of that very impressive bar the uefa cup win. haven't athletico had two poor mid table finishes with a very gifted team including the extremely talented sergio aguero

Lucky you didn't get him he was awful for us.
Yes he won the two cups but the Europa league was lucky plus Forlan and Aguero destroyed any team that we had to face. The supercup was great but again it was the quality of Simao, Aguero and Reyes which won it against a poor Inter side.
He never played the same line up in consecutive games which didn't allow chemistry to grow within the team, especially in defence.
Regarding the no nonsense with Forlan, what happened was Forlan returned tired after his sensational world cup and was then played in every minute of the remaining friendlies and a couple of league games until he was injured. He was then rushed back quickly from injury which didn't help and was slated for being lazy. They then fell out which almost came to punches and he never played again despite the team struggling in Aguero's and Reyes' absence.
Transfers are not done by the manager in Atletico so I have no idea what types of players he would buy if he had control.
Now he has gone I can see Atletico finishing higher despite the potential departures of key players

Atletico, players wise, were at least on a par with Valencia and Villareal last season, yet finished way behind them, points wise at least.

Atletico should surely be a champions league team, and you could argue that anyone could win half their games in charge of them and Valencia, winning half at Benfica is actually appalingly bad!

    No ta.

Now look, if there is going to be concerted campaign to replace Bruce, I'll have to switch tact and start supporting him.

I hate to follow the crowd don't you know? Lol
