He's one of four keepers in the 30 man provisional squad along with Cillessen, Vorm, Zoet.

 

Hope he does go and has a blinder and bumps his price up if he does leave us.

As long as it's spent on a good replacement that is.

 

You're asking a lot there mate. Probably as much as they spent on Cabaye's replacement.

Cabaye leaving cjanged the whole team and tactics, this in turn put alot more pressure on defence.

If we had kept cabaye the difference woukd have been huge, ok hes one player but his sale meant

Change of tactics
Loss of morale
Poor form
Bad publicity


Once all these continued to build it was never going to be positive and thats why we slipped down the league and had crap performances, relied on remy too much and lost our way.

Add to that a manager who is shi*e

Looking ahead if we cqn replace anybody who leaves and beef up the squad we cold get back to form, end of season came at the right time or we would have been in trouble.

 

My overall point is, give Krul protection in front of him meaning decent defence, midfield and attack outlet and the results will show

 

Sorry but Elliott's had precious few good games IMO. I think he's championship quality at best.

 

Maybe, but he's a sub. Capable of doing a job when asked. Was Harps world class?

You want your reserve keeper to be reliable when needed and good for team morale. A cool, calm older head who doesn't rock the boat.

 

I don't think anyone expects the second choice keeper to be world class, if they were, they'd be plying there trade elsewhere.
The question is if the first choice keeper was injured for an extended period, is he capable of covering and doing the job required of him.
From what we've seen of Elliot, there are more questions than answers.

The problem is he isn't reliable, certainly not cool nor the calm older head type at 28 yo.
Admittedly he doesn't rock the boat, but then again why would he.

If he was put up for sale tomorrow, how many if any PL clubs would want him.

 

Thought we might have seen a bit more of Jak Alnwick, he was very well thought of when he joined us but hasn't been seen much.

 

I think Jak could be loaned out next season with youg Freddie Woodman being upgraded to cover youth/reserve teams.
