Or, you may fall foul of the "second season syndrome" that strikes most promoted clubs.

Coupled with a Europa League campaign, which has proven somewhat detrimental to more than one club and their league campaign...

Not saying you will, just pointing it out.

As Jack suggests I think it will be tough for you next season. Leicester will be a real threat. So will QPR if they make it (I think we are both hoping they don't!). Palace have a great manager now. Stoke have finished top 10 for the first time and Southampton look like they might do well for the foreseeable. West Brom are on the slide though. Obviously we have a lot of business to conclude over the summer, but if I had to pick now, I'd say Burnley, Hull and Derby/West Brom for the drop.

You're in for a whole world of hate. How dare you suggest that Hull will go down?! Don't you know they have Curtis Davies?

That's funny that here's another stat for you the team that wins the championship usually is the one to do the worst , bottom three predictions at present burnley , derby if promoted (qpr will splash the cash) and think Pearson and Leicester will really struggle unless major signings are made , it will be the usual suspects all fighting it out and Southampton lose all the players the press are linking with moves they could be in big bother

How dare Gangsta suggest that the mighty Hull City might get relegate!

Hull! City! Relegation? Never! Never again shall those be uttered in the same breath.

    King Bruce to stay forever!

They should of walked the league this season and are probably have the strongest squad out of any of the teams going up , there probably the team out of the championship that needs the least amount of signings to improve

It could well happen but as it stands I personally think with a few signings were as good as any side in the bottom half probably the top 9

Fettis ... reel it in brother, you are getting too wound up ... football prediction is an inexact science ... who would have predicted that Palace or Sunderland would stay up from their 'doomed' predicaments ... that Man United would finish outside the top six? ... that Liverpool would blow the title .... that Hull would reach an FA Cup final ... anything posted for next season is a mix of patriotism and wishful thinking ... our owners are, reportedly, committing £180 million towards our future ... if they do that who knows where we will end up next year ... but it's all conjecture buddy ... take a chill pill and enjoy the cup final ... I think you have a real chance ... enjoy it but chill ffs <laugh>

That's my point, they should have walked the league this year... They should have also never been relegated in the first place...

But they failed on both counts... To suggest they have the best chance of survival if they were to go up is ludicrous.

A real threat to all the teams facing relegation, yes. A threat to the Premiership elite, no.

Yes, I'm aware of the record of Championship winners. But that's an indirect stat. Most previous champions weren't as convincing as we've been, so it doesn't worry me at all.

Don't misunderstand me, I don't WANT Hull to struggle. Hell, I'd love Villa, West Ham and Newcastle to go down. I just think they will.

They need to improve a Hell of a lot. Their football is turgid and predictable. They do have some big names still out on loan, but I still think they need to sign some quality young players. They need to be canny, like we've been and Hull too to a lesser extent. Redknapp, like Sven, is just resting on his past glories and likes to buy players that have reputations, but only turn out to be has-beens. At the minute, they rely on Austin - a player untested at Premiership level. So much for that "strong squad".

Villa are one of those annoying sides that always seem to have just enough. But, if they keep playing with fire...

Or absorbing the evidence that takes place in front of ones eyes and apply logic to make an informed prediction, as I did over Pearson this time last year. As I've already said, there's still summer signings to be made etc, but it's not hard to work out which clubs will spend big and which ones won't, which ones will spend well, which ones won't... It gets a little tougher when clubs start getting rid of managers ala West Brom, but wishful thinking, don't think so. If so I'd have selected the three sides I previously mentioned. And I don't think we'll survive just because I support Leicester (or patriotism as you call it). I think we'll survive because we have everything in place to allow us to do so. If I thought we won't have what it takes to stay up I'd say so. I don't find it impossible to talk about these things dispassionately like some. I'm not saying my predictions will be spot on, but there's enough information available to make one.

Out of the four teams you mention for the drop two of them are currently better equipped to compete in this league and by some distance , are you any better than cardiff , Fulham , Norwich ? I would say currently your not and will need 6-7 players to put you in with a chance , i have no ill feelings towards Leicester and don't care whether you stay up or go down but from a neutrals point of view the promoted teams unless parting with a sizeable amount of cash are in for a rough ride .

... and part of my point is that logic often goes out of the window when there is a degree of partisanship and even if that is not the case logic is, in any case, invariably flawed... Norwich spent considerably more this season than they had in the previous ones in which they survived... Liverpool and Man United's finishing positions both defied footballing logic ... I'm not disagreeing that we 'attempt' to apply some logic to our 'predictions' but it is inevitably tainted ... easily demonstrated if we create a poll on how we'll do next season and open it to other board users ... there would be a huge disparity between what our own fans would go for and the guests ... yet (a few numpties aside) each would be adamant that their vote is based on logic ...
