Just noticed that Macclesfield may not be around much longer according to their fans. All club credit cards have been stopped and £250,000 is owed I believe to HMRC. If they go It will be a sad day and the way many clubs will go if Div 3 gets off the ground.
This League 3 idea can't be allowed to get off the ground - it would screw lower league football. It's a perilous enough living as it is, as the Maccs plight demonstrates, and we'd end up with a League 1 populated with B teams and less money coming to the likes of us. Welcome GassyAde

Also there are some good players in this league! Players who could play league 1 level but choose not to. Reason why is because some of these players have a 2nd job which is well paid. So with both incomes combined, Some League 1 and 2 clubs cant pay as much or more to persuade the player to move! It will be a tough season unless we hit the ground running and spend bringing in players who wants to fight for us. Fight like Steve Elliott not like David Pipe

IMO it would be foolish of Higgs to shoot his bolt on the contract of Macey's terms (Vs Arsenal) before the UWE as that would bring in the most revenue if we could just tick along till then
