    Good points

If we're to try and climb the league in a sustainable manner then we're not going to get champions league football for a very long time. That's too long for ambitious footballers with short careers.
Plenty of disrespect to Spurs but if Pochettino has another good season with us then i think he can get a job with a Champions League club.

I can't remember who said it about Pochettino, but they said he has his career planned out and he is not about to damage his reputation. Failure at a volatile club like spurs could put his career back

Sorry, just answering the question again.

Go. As will Shaw and Lallana. As a Pompey fan I can testify smaller clubs do not recover from selling your best players (even if you get alot of money). Downhill from now I'm afraid. See you in the Championship in a couple of years.

based on tottenham being an unenviable task, can anyone see pochettino just sitting on his year of contract and waiting for better opportunities to present themselves? would the board stand for that?

Yup...pretty sure that they would be okay with Mauricio staying for another year....would stabilise the club whilst other changes were happening. They would also hope to make him change his mind during that year.

According the the daily star they've made an approach for Pochettino

    Sounds somewhat promising, i guess

I agree there is more chance of Southampton being in the championship in a couple of years than Portsmouth. Good luck against our B team in a couple of seasons? <ok>

I agree...think he wants to go...probably just a question of price. I would hope we might say no for Shaw.

You're probably right......my "semi-realistic best case scenario" is Shaw goes and Lallana stays, then we use Shaw + Osvaldo - new left back money to plug any gaps. I value Lallana over £30m comfortably. If he goes, then I really hope we get that. Even if Ralph and Poch say "give us one more season Adam", I'd be so happy.
