A lot better, Evra was a class act at his peak. Best LB that the PL has ever had. Irwin was good, but he didn't have that energy going forward that Evra had. I wouldn't swap Evra for anyone whose played in the PL, he was quality
Irwin was a better defender than Evra, you know, the job they get paid to do. he also was a better crosser of the ball and took a free to rival or better Beckham and Ronaldo.
He won't be offered a new contract, If its true, he's been a great servant for us, in his prime, he was one of the best defenders in the premier league. Good luck to him. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ed-not-offered-new-contract-Old-Trafford.html
How can a Liverpool fans call anyone else a ****. When they are the worse fans in the world and got English clubs banned from Europe, scum.
About time you changed your username. Moyes is out, in case you weren't aware. Lack of creativity as standard, including the appalling insult.
Only just seen this pile of utter rat ****. Evra isn't even close to Irwin. I would go as far as to say that Arthur Albiston was better and Roger Byrne was on another planet. Then there's Tony Dunne. Best left back we've ever had my arse, he's a distant fifth.
Evra is a better modern day fullback than Irwin, I don't think Irwin's style of play would suit the way a fullback is expected to play nowadays. He was better defensively than Evra, but with every team nowadays playing with holding midfielders, which allows the fullbacks to bomb on forward, Evra is better suited to this than Irwin, as he's faster, and a better dribbler. Plus he's naturally left footed. Evra had the skills of a top class left winger at his peak. As for Arthur Albiston, please don't make me laugh by trying to claim players from the 1960s are anywhere near as good as any modern day players. I respect the players that played back then, but let's not kid ourselves, this was an era when half the team would have a *** at halftime, and they'd be in the pub having 7-8 pints after most games. A 1960s top level game, is slower than a modern day conference match, and by quite some way
I had Albiston on a similar level to Irwin as a defender but lacked the consistant crossing and had no free kick, ahead of Evra in my book
He was supposed to be a left back, Giggs was the winger. Irwin could cross the ball better than both of them and he was also a superb defender. His free kicks were some of the best i have seen at OT.
