Rumours going round that Arsenal fans are trying to hold a minutes applause in the 56th minute in commemoration of the Bradford fire. Hopefully true and if we can all join in then it would be great. Should add it's only great as an alternative to silence, would prefer a silence but the FA aren't doing one
It IS a disgrace that this wasn't observed on Sunday 11th May at all PL/play-off games. I seem to re-collect a young Birmingham fan been killed as well in a separate incident involving Leeds on the same day... That seems to have been deleted from FL history as well.....
It would also be good if we can have a fake injury so play is stopped as well during this period Great idea
I think it is a very good idea. Both sets of fans clapping together and I am sure someone will hold some kind of banner up. Hopefully the media will pick up on why we are doing it too. Cannot understand why it just gets forgotten.
It'd be a decent gesture from both sets of fans. I seem to recollect that the families and both clubs directly involved by the fire preferred to deal with it in their own way rather than make a national issue. I could be recollecting wrong, but they do seem to have held a crditable and dignified position with it all.
Would be a great idea if the managers / captains could get there heads together before the start of the match and on 56 minutes, the ball gets booted out and both teams stop and join in. Can't see the ref having a problem and imagine the good exposure both clubs would get for the gesture. Might piss the premier league off but **** them after last weekend.
Knowing the FA, both clubs would then probably get done for match-fixing or something ridiculous. I think the 56 minute applause is a great idea and hope it comes to fruition.
Outside of the playing/coaching side, there's probably nobody at the club who is aware that it even happened...
I was really angry at the weekend when nothing happened at the final games. Really hope this happens !!!
