Okay, you've asked for this. There's a variety of versions, but the one I think fits most of the facts is as follows.

The Humber's not a river, it's an Estuary. The early settlement was around the River Hull, a bit north of the Humber Estuary.

The land around here was owned by the monks of Meaux (Cistercians I think) who sold it to King Edward I, as a base for his soldiers in the war against Scotland and decided to call the whole collection of villages, "Kings Town upon Hull". Being as we are, people though '**** you, ya pompous ****e' and stuck to the village names or just 'Hull' for the area. Before that, it was called Wyke upon Hull, as 'Wyke' meant creek.

It's like a few name origins, such as Avon and Rio, where the name for the watercourse originally meant river, So the River Hull leading to the Humber Estuary stems from the River River leading to the River River and in an area originally called creek on River. <ok>

The sad think is, you seem to think there's some truth in this ****e you're posting, when in reality you're making an arse of yourself. As I said, you seem to avoid posting the quotes from the site owner and other mods when you and a twisted version of reality were dealt with at the time. <ok>

Prove me wrong then <doh> I hold my hands up to my part fella, and it won't surprise anybody, I've got a scathing nature. I've been a **** to you, but you've deserved every bit of it. You going to put up or shut up?

The Supermods haven't wummed the board for a full season, why would I quote them?

Get them on here to tell me what a bad boy I am, they can see what they allow to be a mod on this site while they're here. Go and cry to them.

Minxy! BrB! DMD wants to bitch to you. <ok>

As for Mick? Not once has he ever spoken to me. He doesn't get involved in this stuff. <doh>

Mick replied to you when you took it GC. <doh>

The fact YOU get wound up by making an idiot of yourself doesn't make me a wum. You're regurting stuff that was dealt with previously. You made an arse of yourself then as you're doing now and it's even more boring.

They don't have enough quality to beat Arsenal who've already strolled to an easy victory at Hull.

It'll be a job to keep the score down the 5 ........
