Have just read on Teletext, an attempt by a binner's fan to fly a banner over Carrow Road Congratulating Norwich on their relegation was grounded due to bad weather. Money was raised to hire a plane for the 2-0 defeat against Arsenal on Sunday, but High winds meant the plane was unable to take-off, the £750 raised is going to go to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. The Binner's Supporter behind the idea wanted to let us know they were thinking of us
But it wasn't raised for that, was it. Money was raised for a tacky bit of "banter" with a club up the road. It was only as an after thought donated. If it hadn't been for the weather, that money would have been wasted (though Ipswich would have been a laughing stock).
Why would we be a laughing stock? surely thats only your opinion as a norwich fan. now having a drunk chef slagging off her own fans on live TV, now that is classic comedy gold!
You can always rely on Ipswich to bang on about history! They make themselves a laughing stock anyway!
But its Norwich most well known piece of history, how many times is that replayed on TV compared to Goss's goal in germany?
I find it a bit cringe worthy to be honest, and the fact they had to raise the money is just embarrassing. Thankfully thanks to the weather, they did the normal and sane thing by giving the money to charity.
Well given that the idea has been roundly, and rightly, condemned on twitter following the BBC publicising it, I can only imagine how much abuse Ipswich would have received had it actually been done.
What you don't seem to understand is that the vast majority of us are proud to have a passionate supporter as our owner, much better than an owner who hides his face so he won't be recognised by the mob when they come looking for him!
I think we're very lucky with both our owner and chairman, they're both passionate about the club and it's direction.
