To be honest, this may sound ridiculous, but i would take Soldado here. You don't score as many goals in your career as he has by being ****, he's clearly in a formation that just doesn't work for him. Soldado with Ozil, Cazorla, Ramsey and Theo providing him would be a 35 goals a season (all competitions) striker for us.
Oh they spunked it up the wall alright. They got an obscene amount of cash for Bale and then paid way over the odds for players they bought. 26m for Soldado, 30m for Lamela and on it went. It doesn't make all of those players bad players, but they paid a premium for them and they were ineffective in their team. They spent 110m on the squad and finished lower than the season before. That mate is what you call spunking a ton of cash up the wall.
Also spending that sort of money all in one go on the amount of players they did, just upset the balance of the squad. They still don't know what their best XI is and Nice but Dim hasn't got a ****ing danny how to manage a football team. Rumour was that AVB only wanted to buy a couple but Levy and Baldini bought the others in an attempt to buy their way into the top four. If you spend 110m and go from 5th to Champions or even 3rd/4th and qualify for for the Champions League then it's money well spent. But if you spend 110m and end up 6th and fail to even qualify for the Euopey league then it is money pissed up the wall.

Spuds feed off of the crumbs of other clubs failings, because they have no hope of success themselves. For a long time they used to pray for Villa and Newcastle failing because those two clubs were closest matched to them. Then for the last few seasons it's been Liverpool, but it's a dumb piss take because Liverpool have totally outperfomed them this season and ripped them apart.
After this season , they got nothing to take the piss about . ZILCH . You would think they would keep a low profile .
