He's been called to the Belgium squad. What a year its been for him, this time last year, he was in the reserves, now he's going to Brazil to play in a major tournament.
Indeed fair play to the lad, he's done well and he will become a cracking player given time. Just pointing out that being called up doesn't mean he'll definitely play; aka Theo Walcott in 2006
Instead of making 15 different [Insert name here] is going to the World Cup threads Matth, why not just put a post in the Man United Squad news sticky thread at the top
Walcott was 16 and totally unproven. He had only played Championship football, and was only called up because Sven seen that Wenger was prepared to pay 15 million for him. Had he not made that move, he wouldn't have even been considered. Januzaj is 19 and has impressed in numerous games at the highest level over a full season. I think he'll be used to begin with as an impact substitute, but I wouldn't rule him out starting a few games eventually, as the kid has bundles of ability, and is more than capable of sending out a message to his manager, by impressing as a substitute. The Belgian side isn't as strong as some like to suggest, he is better than all of there attacking midfielders, apart from Hazard currently, but he has the potential to be a lot better than him in the long term. Once he's 22-23 he'll be Belgium's best player, and Hazard will just be playing a supporting role
Whether you had heard of Walcott or not, whether he'd played or not, whether you think Japseye will be a quality player or not, it doesn't matter. My point was being called up and playing are two different things. Japseye being called up by Belgium doesn't guarantee that he will play in the world cup as matth suggests in the OP
Yep. Everyone and his dog had heard of Walcott since Wenger had just spunked £15m on him and he'd been called up by Sven despite never having played Premier League football, hell he hadn't played for Arsenal at all at that point.
