A great indiviadual, team and management performance, and a wonderful result.
It am sure that it is destined to be as one of the legendary matches at Loftus Road.

But the objective is not to visit to Wembley. But to win at Wembley!
    But so far, so good!

p.s. I hope that Krancjar's hamstring will be fine for Saturday 24th.

Snap - just goes to show that there is more stress watching on telly. We may not have played great football but the intent was there from the first minute and the atmosphere was truly outstanding - they dare not lose with that passion behind them. Think TF and PB will have got the message for the new stadium. I didn't think I was shouting that much,, but my voice this morning tells a different story.

Ket substitution for me was bringing Yun on, suddenly we had a threat on the left. Everybody put a huge shift in though.

Here we go,, here we go, here we go.....

He was scythed down, no debate at all, contrast that with the Foxesque dive from Wigan.

I told everyone here my concrern was for them cheating to get a red card or pen and they did exactly that.

What a f-ing great match...screaming at my TV at 4am and waking the kids, only for the misus to come down and join in !!

i thought we played really well and the MOM vate has to go to Wigans keeper. He had a blinder !

Was a bit worried with Hill at LB and was proven correct but the team and the support stepped up.

Harry got the subs spot on and i was bewieldered with Zamo TBH.

I guess the "happy Clappers" are out in front right now, and the "I told you so's" only have 90 mins plus extra time to get a result.!!! <ok>

There were some very neg posts early on but gladly that gone now!!

FINALLY, the crowd were superb tonight and TV coverage was affected by our celebrations, the cameras were bouncing all over the place
Massive well done to everyone who went a shouted for our, looked awseome from here. <ok>

    PS,,,Cheers Fos

What a game, watched it half on a stream on my laptop and half on FaceTime, my brother was in South Africa Road just next to the loft.... He was handing his phone around the crowd and I was getting to meet rangers fans from half way around the world... Obviously not as good as being there but thanks all the same whoever you were, it made me feel a real part of the atmosphere... I just love being a ranger and part of the 'family'...
I tell you what watching Joey rub his hands together during the lineup I knew he was up for it but when hill handed him the armband he just changed gear and revelled in it... Bobby was just fantastic! Roll on the 24th, now all I have to do is work out wether to watch it at a bar or via FaceTime live from somewhere in wembley!
    You rssssssss

All sports news on TV seem to think that Rio Ferdinand is to leaving Manchester United is much bigger news than us reaching the playoff final.
    Makes me mad

I was going to direct you to the match-thread regarding Hoilett today COL but you've already looked at it.

I totally agree. I thought Hoilett played very well last night. Okay some of his things didn't come off but he was a constant thorn in their side. He made the first goal of course and ran his tits off. (I just wish he'd go on the outside a bit more often!!) I too couldn't understand the sledging of Hoilett when I read it after coming home.

Nines made a point though the other day that when you're watching the game and commenting on it at the same time rather than afterwards, your emotions ebb and flow with the game and its illustrated in the posts. Maybe I'm overly negative on match-day threads too.

Still, great all round performance from the team and you boys at the ground were immense. There was a group of guys in the pub that just happened to be watching the game too and they all commented on the roaring of the crowd.

Just one more thing. If Redknapp doesn't win the final then he'll have failed and will probably be shown the door. But credit must be given for negotiating an extremely tricky two-legged Semi against a very decent Wigan side. I thought he got the lineup and subs spot on away and the moment he noticed a problem last night after 20 minutes, he made a tactical switch and we took control of the game.

Now do it in the final 'Arry!

I'm afraid that I don't agree that the game has proved that the "happy Clappers" were right. If you ask me, it leads to some difficult questions for HR:

    • Why hasn't Yun played more often this year?
    • Why couldn't he motivate the team to play with that intensity (or half that intensity) in any other game?
    • Why has O'Neil not played centrally before?
    • Why have we not played 442 more often?
    • Why hasn't Kranjcar been utilised more effectively more often?

And that's just a few! Don't get me wrong, I'm DELIGHTED with the result and think HR deserves a lot of credit for the two Wigan games which he masterminded very well indeed. But I don't believe that the result should negate the obvious and difficult questions which lead naturally from it.

All in all, I DO now have more confidence about the final that I thought I would, so the optimist in me is slowly being dragged out by two very good performances.

Don't forget, he got then starting team horribly wrong yet again, Doyle as a winger?

Make mistakes like that against derby and they will be out of site by HT.

Well we heard it from the horses mouth (well, Shteve's mouth) last night. When the presenter said QPR have been criticised for being more a group of individuals than a team, he disputed it immediately and said he worked with those players for three months and the spirit and camaraderie among them was great. Barton and Austin also praised the Manager post match for getting the team spirit back into the Club after last season's fiasco.

I don't know what Flyer was trying to do with that thread a couple of weeks ago, with his rumours about in-fighting and all sorts. I think he may have been telling a few porkies

Comments on here during the course of a game are indelible and there for all to see, comments/thoughts etc at a game are not recorded and if they were I don't think they'd be very consistent or toeing the party line at all times.

Exactly, it was plain to see he picked a bad starting line up and it cost us, the difference is on here I'd be !owning about that whereas I knew it at the game but was not being negative.

He's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't. When he makes a good tactical switch or substitution, its not compliments he gets, its why didn't he have them on from the beginning?

    Harry Redknapp vs Flyer.

    Give me a break <doh>

I don't think that's quite fair, at least in relation to my comment. As I said, he deserves a lot of credit for both Wigan games, which he masterminded very well. But that does raise (fair) questions as to why he's not been as astute in other games this year.

That was such a thrilling game. I admit I was bricking it for the first 20 mins but after that we were excellent. Not a game where quality shone throughout (a lot of awkward first touches especially as the conditions worsened) but it was entertaining and committed - this must be the excitement that all the regulars at LR have been craving all season.

Credit to everyone mentioned - Barton (especially after he got the captain's armband), Austin, Ned, BZ and Dunne (who both got better throughout). I also thought Simpson was everywhere for the first 90 minutes and am not surprised he perhaps faded in extra time (plus sat back after the second goal).

Credit due to 'Arry for his approach to both games - I thought the first leg he did well to send them out at full speed for the second half (Wigan seemed surprised) and I also thought he did the brave thing by putting on all his subs with still nearly 25 minutes left - the number of times managers wait for stupid pre-conceived markers (hour mark, last 10 minutes etc) drives me mad but that didn't happen yesterday. Ii wonder if the Hill substitution was after half time just to see how Rosler had set Wigan up for the second half.. (or maye not)?

The crowd were amazing - noisy throughout (even after their goal). Well done to everyone who went!

Sadly, times are tough, but in the unlikely event that I get a job in the next few days, I will join the scramble for Wembley tickets....

Brilliant night - exhausting just watching it but brilliant nonetheless!!! :)

Hi chief! Good account mate, wish I was there. They say it's easier for a player to be on the pitch than on the bench when nerves are considered, think the same applies to fans, it's easier to be in the stands instead of in front of the TV. You feel you have a chance to influence the proceedings.

I can't see that you have commented on Kranjcar. We have both been critical (putting it lightly), but I think he was phenomenal last night, especially first half when he was our best player imo. And the fact he lasted the whole 120 minutes, same goes for Hoilett, both never completes 90 minutes and for them to pull through shows a lot of character.
Dunne is a big game player so not surprised to see him impress, a certain starter for the final imo.

I was saying if we equalised we would go on to win it and I hope we wouldn't sit back again, the midfield was Hoilett kranjcar Barton Morrison which is incredibly lightweight so we had no option but to carry on after that and go for the throat.

Luckily Wigan couldn't cope with it and it was one of the rare occasions Redknapp out coached the opposition manager and we out matched our opponents for passion.

I wish he'd make a first half switch instead of always waiting until HT though.

Haven't had time before now to comment.....too knackered last night and that was only after watching in the pub.....took hours to get to sleep last night....it is true it is easier to watch a game live at the ground than on TV.

Anyway my take on things is that first 20 mins we couldn't work out how wigan were playing, they always seemed to have the extra man available and the two wing backs were allowed far too much space....thereafter we got to grips with things and looked good going forward and moved the ball around well pulling their midfield around the place...their back 3 were very good. Deserved to be level at HT but wigan held out.

Don't know who called Clint's substitution, but Yun is some player and looked very comfortable as soon as he came on giving us greater width on both sides. Hoilett did well but seemed to have trouble keeping hold of the ball at times but he put in some shift up and down the flank.

Turning point was McLeans miss that would have put them out of sight at 0-2, a real game changer, plus them losing Caldwell to injury when he brought down Hoilett made a huge difference.

All in all a magnificent performamance and the atmosphere gave the impression of 40k in the ground not just 18k, the old lady does rock.

So flights are booked for saturday week just need match tickets now.....did someone mention a meet up?
