I think he meant your Board, as in at Anfield, not your board as in not606  .. when he said "tell your board"

  2. Fair enough, I guess I mis-read it <laugh>

The 25% sell-on clause means you guys would want more for him too <ok>

We play with an extremely high intensity. As a result we are obviously almost always massively on top in games until we run out of steam. We don't rotate much either. The way we play requires us to have attackers with high energy and a good work rate as impact options from the bench. We also need to rotate the midfielders in our starting XI a little more than we have been.

Rodriguez covered more ground per minute than any player on that list. Every player on that list had 34 starts or more this season other than Rodriguez. Rodriguez had 30 starts and 3 substitute appearances.

The fact he's brilliant would mean we'd want more for him too :)

It is at moments like this that I wish we still had Nicola.

He would know exactly how to deal with all these approaches for our players and manager.

He would also take great delight in dealing with the crap sports journalists and editors our papers seem to employ.

His cold sneer would be a joy to see as he told them what to do while shredding their bid document with delight.

Maybe Katharina should give him a call.

Feel a bit harsh for you lads if this goes through I must admit; although I always want what's best for my club.

You play and manage football the right way which looks like it may unravel this summer.

To keep your best players though I think you must continually improve, remain ambitious and spend money to take you to the next level.

From the outside looking in things appear a bit unstable with whether you will stay at this level or go backwards.

Nobody from the club seems to be making a statement in regards to keeping players, and most importantly the manager.

This insecurity will filter down to the players.

I think your guvnors are letting you down <ok>

Maybe...but remember our financial situation wouldn't be an different if Nicola was here. He might be happy to delay paying debts for another season, but the piper has to be paid eventually. And she who pays the piper etc.

in fairness, i've made the same observation but passthefootball has reminded me that krueger as well as reed have within grander statements stated that we don't need to sell and both want and believe we can keep this group of players together.

i think the problem is they have waffled so much around the point and surrounded it with so much non-commital that it has been easily ignored by the media.

if they'd said nothing else i think they'd have done a better job of it. assuming it is the message they wanted to send.

    I think that's a correct.

If they didn't want to sell the players they should have come out and said "piss off" or laughed it off.

They are sort of midway between that which you've said and the media like problems!

    Something's not right imo.

it's a new chairman with no especially relevant experience tbh. it's possible he's just making a hash of it. for the moment i'm going to cling to that concept.

It'll be Reed dealing with the transfers, and he has experience. We're just not being kept fully informed about it, which has always been the case really.

Krueger said on Sunday they have no news worth announcing, and when something happens they'll tell us. Perhaps they just don't see every offer that comes in as worth talking about (indeed there's no real indication that we have even received an offer for Lallana).

I've been watching Sky for a while....yesterday it was full of the offer for Luke...today, no coverage of our rejection...obviously not newsworthy. I hope we really aren't interested in selling Luke...I honestly doubt it is the best for him at the moment. Nothing about Adam at all...I'd like to say no news is good news, but sadly I don't think that's the case. Anyway, it's Mauricio I'm worried about...I'd trust him with the team even if we lost a couple of players.

To be fair Lallana is 26 and may feel it is a good time for a new challenge and chance to play in the Champions League.

If I was Shaw I'd stay for another year. He's still very young.

I thought all you young lads having done media studies at school and college were aware of the games that newspapers play.

There are three papers coming out with all the rubbish and you have to ask what is their agenda. All the rest is 15 year old "wanna" be sports journalists and juvenile fans of other clubs repeating the rubbish when blogging.

Visit the News Now site and just go down the list deleting the articles that aren't from reputable newspapers and the ones that say "as reported in the blah de blah" and you are left with the Mirror, the Mail and the Express and lets be honest the only thing those papers are any good for is putting in the bottom of my budgerigars' cage.

    It doesn't fit their script.

Also, we shouldn't "make a statement" about this stuff. It just lends credibility to the rumours. Currently, they have none, just unsourced speculation, and big club bias.

talking to them at all at a time they are asking these questions is doing us no good.

although the poch interview when he stonewalled blackmore was good.

Even more so, Gerrard literally said he wanted a new challenge. No fannying about with the kind of media speculation we've got now, he full on said he wanted to leave.

But he'd just won the Champions League and if we're honest looked more likely of winning the League that you do now.
