This is a bit 'out there' but.............
How many people scoffed at the idea of Mourinho going back to Chelsea? It looks like PL will be out at Villa as they are up for sale and struggling for cash and where if this does happen is he going to go next?
If everyone could swallow their pride, would it be the worst appointment ever for him to come back to CR? We all need some humble pie at times and if people are big enough then it can be edible. Are McNally and PL big enough? Thoughts please.
I doubt it will happen but it is a thought isn't it?

Wouldn´t want it to happen either THURNBY, the way he left was very acrimonious, and even if we could swallow that, he´s done nothing at Villa to set the world alight. He was good for us at the time he was here, and we were good for him, but that´s all water under the bridge, end of story.

Remember how the majority of fans hailed the return of Mike Walker?
Nowhere near as many good times as the first time

I don't disagree with your comments at all, I just thought it was worth posting to test the water. Some of the names being touted currently don't excite me and we do need a figure to get behind. PL would be contentious for sure and as Resurgam says quite correctly Mike Walker's return was a dismal failure.

No thanks. PL did a great job for us but coming back at any time rarely works. People get sucked into it will be the same but it never is. His time has been and gone and we thank him for that.

Walker wasn't a dismal failure upon return and certainly cheered me up after watching Megson's team. His wife's illness took its toll though and although there were some good moments, he couldn't recreate the magic of first time around.

A small part of me wants QPR to get promoted on the basis that you know they will invest heavily and be competitive next season if they don't

Well I suppose a 50 Million £ fine to them is just something they will find down the back of their sofa!

FFP make no mistake is where it's at and there will be severe penalties for clubs that break the rules! <ok>

Bournemouth, Notts Forest and QPR will be in serious problems!
