So who would buy him as any club who can afford £100K pw surely can find better cheaper even with a transfer fee

He has one year left on his contract. I'm sure if someone came along and offered him a three or four year deal on say £60k per week he'd go. Worth more long term plus he'd get a pay off from the club (loyalty payments) since he doesn't want to leave.

Most no, but Johnson has done a maths degree. Plus his agent would be more than keen to point it out for him too
Or his agent will say. Take the 100k a week this year and you'll prob get a 2 or 3 year contract afterwards on 50k a year minimum when you leave with clubs being able to offer a bit more in wages due to getting you on a free.
Well, if someone else is willing to give him £60k per week, he'd only cost us £40k for twelve months oppose to £100k. Not ideal but better. Plus, we could just pay it him out of the transfer fee we get for him.
