And congratulations to all contributors on a wonderful thread, amazing to think that we are now 83 pages and almost 1650 replies long...imagine the lengths we would have gone to had the mackems not pulled off their own version of the great escape and actually went down?.......the bastards never mind there is always next season <big massive grin they are the gift that keeps giving, after all>

Of course, the Glow is not over yet, there is much secondary glow to be had today in that there is likely to be a whole lot of tears at Anfield this afternoon.....and not necessarily from our lot <title there for the taking and you f**ked it up Glow>

And of course, those of us lucky to have a Gateshead Passport which entitles us to follow the Heed at Wembley next week gives massive Expectation Glow.....howay Gateshead!

Its also not much of a claim given how much the gap has been closed since Christmas.

 

You really should have stopped at "claim". I have to say this is a pet hate of mine though I accept its often tongue in cheek.

Your lot crowed when you were above us for three years, and we do likewise. Unless we win something or the league position/runners up spot in a cup results in a trip to Europe then I struggle with the whole "North East Champion" tag. Nobody can tell you who finished marooned in mid table downwards year on year. You might remember when you had a top 6 finish and ended up in Europe. Likewise nobody remembers who finished runner up in a domestic cup (most can't tell you who ****ing won the things in the last 10 years!)

Both clubs have been conditioned to being ****. "we finished 4 places above you in 10th" "we got to a cup final and got beat" - its not really inspiring is it?

A cup final and six points from our nearest and dearest has certainly got me glowing, especially when the aforementioned six points meant the difference between us stopping up or going down..

 

A season that didn't end in 2013 too.

 

Aye but you really don't get the Glow, Whitey, do you?

You see, the Glow is knowing that for months you and your mackem buddies were waking up during the middle of the night worried that your team were going down. All those extra grey hairs you mackems discovered, all those extra worry lines......all down to your league position for how many days and months was it?

That, Whitey, is the Glow.
