    We may as well not bother entering the league next season.

    Let's just have our academy, and instead if Southampton FC we can just be a breeding ground for the big clubs. Why bother entering any competitions ourselves?

    If we sell more than two big name players, I fear we are about to enter some dark days again. Why can't the club say we won't sell? I feel very uneasy.

    They have said we don't have to sell. I guess they don't want to commit themselves to not selling as a stupid offer might be made or a player could throw a serious hissy fit. I would guess that if 1 or 2 big players are sold, we will be more likely to resist offers for others. No point in parting with players valued at 5-10 million as it would be hard to get a player in for the same sum and then they may not fit in.

    The new board is on a hiding into nothing. If Cortese sold players we'd admire the money he got and say he had no choice, whereas if Kreuger does the same he will be seen as weak and the club said to be in decline.

    they've made a rod for their own backs by wanting to engage more openly with the fans. they want to talk broadly about the club but there's only one question they keep getting and they are not answering it emphatically or consistently enough (with staff toeing the line) to ward off rumours.

    Cortese would have instigated media blackout. For his faults, I think press engagement was one of the things he eventually got right.
