Something like that. We have an incredibly physically demanding style of play and his physical prowess is not what you'd be buying (though there's no issue with that per se).

In our last 15 games he's been subbed off three times before 80 minutes, against Norwich in March when we were comfortably winning and in the last two games of the season against Swansea and United, which were meaningless games where he was obviously going to be taken off early with him off to the World Cup.

I'm too lazy to read back on the thread but even on this page my fears are mentioned, he seems to fade late in the game. I'd be happy for us to buy him though as he is a very good player and if it's just a fitness issue surely that can be sorted.

Been a pleasure watching you lot this season and hope that you keep the manager and core of players, as with any transfer the two clubs will argue but I hope it's just banter and respectful.

I read recently that he's been nursing a slight groin problem...imagine how he'd play if he was fit :)

not discounting that this may be the case and that he has made strides each season in physical ability, but he's always been like that.

70 minutes might be unfair now on average. when he first started he was flagging after 60. now he's getting closer to 80 before the intensity drops. i don't think it's a concern over him but over him having to do too much.

Are any of our players particularly good after 70-75 minutes? In general we did not finish games very well, whether it's a tiredness or mental issue or a combination of both.

i've always attributed that to us being a bit clueless without lallana. you may have a point though.

  8. Personally, I don't want us to sign Lallana. He is a good player but you guys will want too much for him.

Just to again debunk this idea that Lallana gets subbed off early all the time, he played 3099/3420 minutes in the league this year, and 101 of the minutes he missed were in the first 5 games of the season before he really hit his stride. If you remove that and the two final games of the season where it was obvious to sub him off with the World Cup on the horizon, he played an average of 85 minutes a game. Also, of the 19 games he was substituted we won 11, drew 6 and lost 2 so in general by far he was substituted off when we were in a winning position when he is an obvious candidate to give a rest to.

... and don't forget to mention that Adam has a known heart defect and probably wouldn't pass your stringent medical anyway.

Gallery up on OS. Unfortunate sale sign on the tv screen in shots after Rickie scored :). Adam nearly in tears patting his badge...doesn't look good, I'm afraid. Nice to see JRod walking round the pitch.

He plays with an infectious enthusiasm and does tend to go at 100mph, so I wouldn't say his game management is the best from a fitness viewpoint. He has improved defensively under Pochettino with our high pressing style as he used to ball chase a lot.

As other have said because he is our playmaker and we've won many games by the odd goal then he is often sacrificed for fresh legs and a more defensive midfielder to see those games out.

Ray Houghton does tend to bang on about this with his sky commentaries but it's not a massive concern for me and as a squad player for Liverpool there will be no complaints.

Only four players covered more distance than Lallana this season

Caulker covers a lot of ground for a centre back...I'd suggest disorganised

  20. So he played 90.6% of the time. That's fairly impressive TBH.

I've said it numerous times on our board and believe or not, a fair few agree with me (more don't though). I'm sure you already realise but most are just on the wum having a laugh, don't take them seriously <ok>

We have a top physio, I have no doubt he'd find a issue if there was one <ok>

that tells me that him and Henderson in the middle wouldn't allow teams to settle too much <ok>
