Can't explain how completely and utterly overjoyed I am for Rickie Lambert.

Actually beetroot is something of a superfood when it comes to liver cleansing, so clearly perfect to be blended into an alcoholic beverage. You can drink with abandon then. Maybe.

Caught some of the live bits from Roy earlier and I have to say what a relief it is to have an England Manager who makes some sort of sense, explains his decisions and acts with dignity.

It's not just because he's recognized the 3 musketeers from Saints but the whole process today seems a bit better controlled than in the past.

Even Mr A Cole has reacted with some maturity.

Agree with all of this apart from the Baines bit. It makes you wonder what The England coaches are doing when they come to watch matches. How can they not be impressed by Cork and Clyne? However, I suppose that when their own team manager doesn't always select them, then maybe you can see a reason.

Wilshire, is not good enough for England. I also wouldn't have selected Oxlade-Chamberlain. Although he has pace he has been patchy this year and even if fit wouldn't guarantee a starting place at Arsenal.

Rickie on Sky: I was sick and anxious before the announcement, now I'm over the moon.

Gotta love the guy...not the usual platitudes you get from footballers.

Sure, but England don't have Özil, Rosicky, Ramsey and Cazorla.

I'd pick the same team as Roy did.

He had a few choices to make and in my opinion he made the right calls. He took Shaw ahead of Cole, left disappointing United midfielders at home and picked Rickie ahead of Defoe and Carroll.

The rest of the squad pretty much picks itself.

Perhaps he will be the one keeping Oxlade-Chamberlain out of the starting line-up then...

I said when we sold the Ox that losing Lallana would have been a bigger blow even back then! He has always been better!
Echo everyone's sentiments about Sir Rickie. If he scores in Brazil it will complete me
