Could we lose all our existing strikers?

Just a thought: with RvW, Hooper and Becchio all rumoured to be leaving and Elmander going back to Turkey (I assume) this leavers us Loza. Which, if any, would you see leaving and who would you want to replace them?

Out of the three I would like to hang onto Hooper but I reckon we'll see a completely new strike force next year

edit:- Chris Martin has scored 25 for Derby this year, perhaps we should never have got rid? He couldn't have done any worse than those that we have !

Becchio would be a real asset in the Championship, and he is most definitely better than Chris Martin.

We COULD lose all three, yes. I personally think Hooper will stay though (not that my opinion is worth a great deal).

Here's a list of a few Championship strikers that might be suitable and whose contracts are running out this summer:
    • Will Buckley - Brighton
    • Emmanuel Ledesma - Middlesbrough
    • Matt Derbyshire - Forest
    • Marcus Tudgay - Forest
    • SIMEON JACKSON!!! - Millwall
    • Andy Keogh - Millwall

EDIT: none are incredible I know, but could be good in terms of cheap additions for depth.

We have - just don't have any midfield players who can provide them with a decent ball. <ok>

Really? Martin has had a stellar season and a lot of Leeds fans suggested that Becchio had got lucky when we bought him - dreadful touch, slow, etc. All the reasons he hasn't played for us tbh.

I think we will keep two of those strikers anyway. Not sure which.

To be fair, the few times I've seen Becchio play for us I thought he does quite well, not sure why he haven't been given a proper chance though, I hope he does now.

Leeds fans love to rip unfairly into players after they leave. I wouldn't exactly call Becchio Premier League quality, but he knows where the back of the net is, which could have helped you this season had you played him, the number of chances I've seen Van Wolfswinkel miss this season that Becchio would have buried is ridiculous. Martin's lucky to be playing in a Derby team that creates chances for fun, any half decent striker could get 20 goals for them, Becchio got 20 goals in half a season in a Neil Warnock team.

This sounded like such a reasonable argument until you said we'd created RvW a number of chances! <laugh>

I don't think they'll all go, but it'll depend on who is in the new manager's plans. Hooper and Becchio have championship experience at least.

Of that list of out-of-contract strikers, I wouldn't necessarily say no to Jackson or Buckley, but wouldn't want either as our main goal threat.

Doubt that very much. Wolf barely ever shot. I'm not sure who you've been watching.

Should have signed Oscar Pistorius, he had more shots on target than Rip Van Winkle.

As it happens, Rip van Winkle's dog was called 'Wolf'

I'd rather we player Loza than have Jackson back. I have nothing against Jackson he was a good player for us and scored some very important goals. But we already have Loza in that mould and the cahmpionship will be a perfect opportunity for him to develop as a player. I really think he could get goals next year and should be our third striker.
