I say we put the money into the development of human cloning and produce 17 Wilfried Bonys. Matchday squad sorted!
Is that just the Bony's needed to cover the goal, as cant see him diving around much trying to save a goal
Especially if Bony decides to leave and we get double 12 million . Financially, we are pretty well the only exception in a premier football world of rule . But even with this unbelievable windfall , expect no big signings even if our current big signings leave.Im afraid were all about the "Back Account " until we eventually drop from here
Roofjack, you're a bundle of laughs aren't you. Thank your lucky stars you weren't born 45 miles east of here...
We can't live beyond our means. A few big signings when appropriate but that's all. We've been lucky with the likes of Bony but there won't be many "big" signings where we could potentially make a tidy profit. We're a mid table team at best, that's the reality and no amount of splashing the cash is going to change that - quite the opposite, it's a perilous route to go down.
Considering the increase in TV revenue that all premier league clubs gained last season compared to 2011/12 (an extra £20 mill if I remember correctly?) relatively speaking the £12mill for Bony was actually not a huge amount more than we shelled out for Ki and Hernandez the season before.
Everything points to Huw and the board saving a ton of money and trying to stay up the Swansea Way .... on the cheap .Monk will be our manager in the Championship ..... even if he keeps us up for 5 more seasons . ! Huw is thinking long term and hes going to sit on the money , money is very personal to him ...
If we manage to stay in the PL for another 5 seasons we will definitely be spending a lot of money over the next 5 years. Please to tell me where everything points towards the board saving a ton of money. Monk has already said that he will buy players who will improve the squad if they become available. Or should we spend 30 million on players of the same ability to that of the current players just to say we have spent money?
I see no reason why we can't safely spend £25m of that ? That still leaves £50m in the rainy day account. 1 major signing ( for us - above £10m) and then 2 or 3 strengthening/replacing signings should do it. I don't want us signing 8 or 9 players again unless it's forced on us by departures. Too many new faces can't be good for bonding I feel.
How are all these millions of income in the bank affected by tax on profit at 50% + 40% rate on monies not spent after outgoings ? If the right players are sourced that can keep our clubs snouts in the prem money trough then we still need to spend to at least stand still up here ?
