I'd have taken Shaun St Ledger over Smalling, and he's Irish.

    I would as well.

I'd have taken your lad Moore over him.

Pretty happy with that... 3 weeks and no injuries away from £1,700 arriving in my bank account...

Here comes a classic training ground collision between Lallana and Oxlade, resulting in broken toes for both, to destroy both of my bets in one fell swoop :(

The concerning thing about that is if it does happen, Woy will be calling upon.... Cleverley. *shudder*

    Phil McNulty ‏@philmcnulty 20s
Hodgson confirms Everton's John Stones will replace Phil Jones if he fails to recover from his shoulder injury.

So you've called up an unfit player, potentially wasting a chance for someone else.

    You **** Woy.

Roy just said "the players taking the field will have caps up there with the opposition".

By that reckoning, he's going to be playing the old guard.

    ffs.

I'd build the team round Ross Barkley

if Jones is crocked I'd call up Benson & Hedges from the Conference... <whistle>

    He'll get his chance.

Him and Stones at the 2020 Euros. Clean sheets.

Woy's just said that if Phil Jones doesn't get over his injury, Stones will be replacing him and he's the most likely of the stand-by's to get a call.

My England XI based on that squad:

    Hart
    Milner Cahill Jagielka Baines
    Gerrard Wilshere
    Lallana Barkley Sterling
    Sturridge

    What Woy will pick:

    Hart
Johnson Cahill Smalling Jones Jagielka Baines
    Gerrard Wilshere
    Rooney
    Welbeck

You can't really take the piss out of Roy when you'd play Milner at right back.

I can, he's thinks Cleverley is good enough for standby for ****s sake.

I'm sorry, but all other RB choices are equally poor.

Johnson is fine and has been for the majority of the season really. Nothing outstanding but, while he's had some shockers, he's done enough to be on the plane and to start.

Milner at right back. Say it out loud and realise how silly it sounds.

I have a few Liverpool mates at uni who go to every game and they all think Johnson getting in the squad is wrong, they say he's been utter rubbish for the majority of the season.

You do realise Milner can play RB, don't you?
