What will fans chant at a Team GB football match?

    Hhmm ... interesting ..

"No Scots in the side, is that cause they're ****?"
"No Welsh in the side, is that cause they're ****? - oh sorry, never saw you there Bale"

Anyway, I'm obviously no poet laureate, sure you can come up with some belters ...

Also good to see Neville Southall getting all ****ty about what flag they'll use .. nice one Nev <ok>

    Fan songs

    * England: God Save the Queen, St George in My Heart
    * Scotland: Flower of Scotland, We'll Be Coming
    * Wales: Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau/Land of My Fathers
    * Northern Ireland: We're not Brazil we're Northern Ireland

I'd suggest a hybrid of 'God Save the Flower of My Fathers Who Are Not From Brazil'

I'm not picking on you here, but just re-read the quote itself by Southall:

The writer put the word 'fuming' in. He might have been saying it in a sort of jokey way. Or in just a confused way.

I think that they should sing the song that should be our National Anthem...............................The Blaydon Races.

England's national anthem is the same as the UK one I believe, so therefore it will be that.

I#m sorry, what?! I was shocked when i saw the beeb rank this as a "fan favourite". I don't i hear it sung at England matches (not that i've been to many), and I know from personal experience that most people dislike it.

Change the English National Anthem! Make it Land of Hope and Glory, or Jerusalem!

Think English Commonwealth team's anthem was "Land of Hope and Glory" if they're representing GB though should be "God save the Queen" and Union Jack I'd have thought.

edit: great minds again GC <laugh>

This will be a unique occasion where the home fans hurl abuse at themselves. Should be God Save the Queen, it's the British national anthem. It should be Land of Hope and Glory when it's just England.

I never bellow. I mumble but only because of an embarrassing incident in my youth that destroyed my self confidence and led to extensive counselling and years of alcohol abuse.

It was 1983 and I was the understudy for the purple flower #3 in the school play. The first choice purple flower #3 came down with a broken spine so I was asked last minute to take his part. I was excited as I'd rehearsed my two lines for weeks in preparation for such an accident that took many weeks more to plan.

The big moment. The sun comes out and I have to welcome him but stage fright struck and I was just a pansy wilting in the spotlight. I'd missed the opportunity so I'd have to wait for the last line.

The moment arrived. The moon walked onto the stage and I bellowed out loud with all my heart and ability the first line of "Hello Mr Sun"! I even stood up to give it my all.

The shame! I was frowned on by my peers and that was the end of a potential acting career. They eventually forgot about me and I ended up drifting from school to school; hoping for a break but my shattered confidence never allowed me to fulfil that dream.

That would be better than everyone surrounding the referee like what always happens now

:emoticon-0120-doh: I need to think a little more before throwing mentally damaging words into some of my responses ..

Still .. good that you've been able to finally share your experience OT .. maybe you can move forward from it now, there's still opportunity to tread the boards in the West End if you have tap shoes and a song in your heart .. <ok>
