Becauase his comment was a response to a reporter asking him what he thought of other managers saying they can't win the title - which is what Jose said. You don't have to mention a name to speak about someone. It was a clear indirect comment aimed at Jose. Again, I don't see anything wrong with what Wenger said and Jose completely overreacted. But to suggest Wenger wasn't talking about Jose is idiotic and naive.
Because I dont recall Pellegrini ever saying his team wont win the title! And Wengers comment was on managers saying their teams wont win, in fact I think Jose was the ONLY manager who categorically stated that his team would not win the league. Rogers gave a more "lets wait and see" response, where as Jose was 100% "No chance".
