Martinez is a brilliant player and would fit in at any team... Have heard that we apparently want Mascherano back though? I can see that happening if his wife is happy about it... Could see both Lallana and Kono arriving, again dependent on if we want to deal with the Dnipro owner and if Lallana's price is sensible. Shaw would be a great purchase - he looks set to be whichever team he join's left back for the next 10+ years. It would leave us with three/four young fullbacks and Glen, and Enrique however - we'd need to think about how to add experience. On the face of it I'd take a summer of Shaw, Martinez, Masch, Lallana, Kono... would only cost £100m or so
maschernao would be ridiculous and i would only take for 5 mil max. i would have to see lucas go as well. its obvious that a total overhaul is about to occur at barca. yoda... you as you are with the force you'll end up living in a swamp and dying alone if you go around believing that shaw and martinez are anfield bound in any form other than as opposing players.
Nope. I prefer a 433 with Sterling out wide. He offers just as much defensively as he does offensively so why put him in the hole and leave the flanks exposed? Its to get three in the middle and leave SAS up top is why but its not playing to Sterling's strengths.
#bbcsalford report on the Lallana bid They also mention Man Utd paying £27m for Shaw at the end http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27371960
interesting, do saints want to sell, or if they do are they going to keep hold until after the world cup in case his value goes up? always the risk of other way obviously, but if we havent done anything about this before the world cup starts, i doubt we will get him after.
It doesn't really matter what our starting bid is, same for Man Utd with Shaw. Southampton don't have to sell and don't want to sell, nor will either player force a deal through. Therefore it won't be a negotiations as such, it will be Southampton refusing to sell unless their valuation is match, much like us with Suarez.
United are shooting themselves in the foot paying so much on one player. They dont even have a manager.
Its a massive bid for Shaw at 18 yrs old.Roughly equivilent to what they paid for Rooney at a similar age.
It is a massive amount and I'd say they need to spend money in other more important areas too. However, should they get him he will be a very good player that they have for many years, just like Rooney. How would people feel if we suddenly announced a £50m spend on Lallana AND Shaw...?
Like the shop window was ****ing huge. 35 m max they are worth. English players cost ridiculous money.
Just going by what Southampton would want. They may be worth less but not to Southampton who want more. Don't meet their valuation then the player doesn't move.
Why won't either player force a deal through? If for example Lallana is desperate to play in the CL, and he know's a team that is in the CL wants him - then he could quite easily want to push for a transfer.
According to the Saints board they have three players that want to leave, those players are apparently Lallana, shaw and Lovren. If true then anyone think we should bid for Lovren? Think we could get him fairly cheap.
Okay, IMO neither of them will. Of course, I could be wrong, they could force it. Stranger things have happened; "once a blue always a blue"
