This is one of the reasons why I now actually hate Alan Pardew

"I have never been accused of setting up boring teams. "Not ever - up until last year. "All my teams have been playing on the front foot and have tried to win the game. I have always set my teams up like that." - Alan Pardew

Looking at the stats, we have had more chances than Liverpool in that half.

Lighten up man, we are winning at Anfield! Probably won't stay that way by FT, but lets at least enjoy the fleeting good times. T

Again, we are winning at the moment. At Anfield. I was not expecting this, hence pretty chuffed. And we could have had more last half.

No- I don't think we will hold it, but its fun to throw a spanner in the works. Plus all my inlaws are Citeh fans

For some reason I can not stand City, kind of like Chelsea, PSG, Monaco... the fair play rules have come too late, we already have sugar-daddy teams in Europe.

True- I'm not a fan of any of these nouveau riche clubs- it is financial doping and it will spoil football as a spectacle eventually.

I can't be too angry for my inlaws mind- they have tales of their days in the 3rd tier, such as getting chinned outside Stockport's ground after watching a City defeat. These are no plastics, although am sure there are plenty of 'fans' who have started following their team in the last couple of years.

It's a shame West Ham fans would also disagree with him.
The footy was dog ****e in the end under this buffoon.

What a ****. He's been playing hoofball for the majority of his time here. We start each game that we kick off in by hoofing a ball up to Sissoko on the right wing.

I don't mind setting up like that at Anfield. They have far better players and have been lethal at home. It makes sense really. It would be lovely to set up attacking every game if we had the players. Its just silly if not and poor management of resources.

We actually did alright tactically bar our comical defending at set pieces which was really down to individuals. A rare on day for Pards really.

I get that it is fashionable to denigrate Pardew but having watched matches this season I would hardly class our style as hoofball, yes it's been a bad run since Cabaye was sold and Remy was out suspended and injured but the real problem was Ashley putting Kinnear in the driving seat and ****ing up the transfer windows, Ashley only sacked him once he had sold Cabaye and the window had closed. Prior to this the team played quite good expansive and flowing football, as noted by many people up to the loss of Cabaye and were in the box seat to do really well again.

So you'd be happy to keep Pardew and invest in the Summer?

Not for me, I'm afraid. He's a loathesome turd more interested in hitting his target by any and all means necessary, otherwise known as protecting his neck, and the rest of us be damned.

Pardew cannot be allowed to buy players this summer. We know exactly the sort of cloggers he would be after. He has to f**k off but if he doesn't go by the end of this week I can't see him leaving this summer. If the man had one shred of integrity left in his perverted carapace he would resign tomorrow but we all know what a disgraceful, morally bankrupt, charlatan **** cowardly bastard he is and would simply never have the bollocks.

I don't know where tis idea we have been playing hoofball this season has come from. Its actually the one thing he has managed to sort out. We play short passing football. We did it well in the first half of the season (had good possession in games) and poorly in the 2nd half of the season (with poor possession in games). Its one of the things that actually deflates the argument to get him out because it just sounds like folk are witch-hunting rather than sticking to the truth. He has done a very poor job in the 2nd half of the season and the football has been very poor. It has not been "hoofball" though.

Cabaye, Anita, Debuchy etc etc. Aye he signs loads of cloggers. Another myth. I don't think we've signed a clogger under his management have we?

    From watching games.

It has been the case that we've passed a lot more than last season, and we all noted his attempt at changing the style, but in general we've nearly always resorted to hoofball if passing a long the ground hasn't worked for the first five seconds, especially since Cabaye left. To be fair though, we've been utterly **** in the second half of the season, whatever the hell style we were trying to play. I'd rather bash myself over the head with a cricket bat then watch Newcastle vs Swansea again. Literally awful.

Poor football, from a club now cemented into the mid table. Everyone ready to get done by Sunderland again next season?

I have watched the games though and haven't seen much long ball from us. I have seen very poor football but not hoofball. I'd imagine the stattos would be able to back this up (though I'm not a huge fan of stats as they can be very misleading). Certainly a mate of mine who is bang into that stuff said Squawka suggested we had improved out of all recognition and were in line with most other teams this season. Supposedly we have had about 50% possession too.

For me we have gone a lot shorter and tried to pass the ball. The more damning thing for me in the 2nd half of the season was the inability to pass the ball. I watched the likes of Mbiwa and Tiote try to actually pass the ball through skin and bone, looking perplexed when it didn't pass straight through. I thought we played some great stuff early on in the season and was much happier going to games than last season. Obviously they ground it out of me as they always do, but it was through ****ness rather than launching it for once.
