To be fair it was a deliberate exaggeration - but I do think Fryatt is a better player for City. He's taken his chances VERY well this year and is hungry for goals, definitely more than Campbell would be in my opinion.
We'll have to agree to disagree. This isn't me saying Fryatt is a bad player, but I definitely think Campbell is better.
We know the score with Fraizer Campbell. Brucey had him at Sunderland and later tried to tempt him to return here but he chose Cardiff because of the wonga. FC rates Brucey highly so it wouldn't surprise me if there is something in this especially if the £800,000 escape clause is correct. For those playing catch up ... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/frazier-campbell-close-cardiff-city-3527732
FC is exactly what we need....great in the air and the speed to break open defences...with Thudd and Elmo laying on the passes/crosses should be a 10/15 goal scorer...and it sounds like he'd come at a bargain price. Go for it Steve...we need more dynamism up front!!
Oh dear god it has taken all of a day after the season has finished before were linked to this plank again
We would only consider Campbell if Fryatt left surely Bruce has said know Strikers are required. If MF scores the winner on Saturday then expect him to be asking for more money and more clubs to be intrested in his services.
Since he left us in 2008 FC has scored 20 goals in 6 years (per Wiki). Of those 7 (his best return in a season) were for Cardiff in the Championship. 13 goals in 5 years at premiership level puts him in the Danny Graham class (15 goals in 2 years Premier League) , but at least Danny Graham wasn't a conceited cock. In fairness, Campbell has spent long periods out of action, but that doesn't endear him to me much either. In short he's an underperforming sick note, with an inflated opinion of his own worth, who has messed us about twice in two separate transfer windows. So it's a no from me.
Brucey has already stated he's not interested in signing a striker so as already stated this must be a potential back up plan in the event of Matty leaving.
Campbell's a cock, at the Stadium of Light I'd have quite happily kicked him to death, but if he seriously is available for £800k, I'd take him. We'd definitely be a better team with him in the squad.
Can't agree, I think he'd be a bench striker at best, and a disruptive influence. I can think of many ways £800,000 could be better spent. In any event I suspect his wages would be prohibitive.
