I knew you'd be the first to respond to that. Like clockwork.

Your hatred of a football Club down the road is bordering on pathological mate.

No, it's normal for QPR supporters of a certain age who have been on the receiving end of mindless violence for just attending matches. Your rose-tinted view from afar shows your ignorance. You just enjoy provoking the issue with you dumb comments...

Don't pull that card that I'm "provoking" people by saying I dislike the idea of hating a local football Club and its fans. If that's all it takes to provoke people then those people have an anger-management problem.

My old man never missed a home game from the late 50's through to the early 70's and he used to go to Chelsea when Rangers were away - as did some of his QPR mates. His second team still to this day? Chelsea!

I'm sorry you were on the end of violence from thugs but tarnishing an entire fan base on that basis is unfair. There are QPR thugs too. I've seen them in action.

You're always provoking, it's your stock-in trade and you've never hidden your liking of Chelsea knowing it winds people up. It's easy to be your way when you hide behind your keyboard. Perhaps next time we play Chelsea you'll come over and pop into the Springbok and offer to buy any fellow Chelsea admirers a drink...

    Really?
I seem to remeber a certain club named Chelsea that thought exactly the same as you...did you see that game or read the OP? <ok>
there players we physically too scared to get the ball back from the crowd.
this isnt the Etihad or anywhere else where the fans are mile away. At LR they are right on top of you. Not many other grounds like that !

Swords, this statement is in fact very true. If you weren't there during the late 60's, 70's and 80's it will be difficult to understand. I was there and I experienced many times what Sooper talks about. I went holme and away to the scum during those years with my girlfriend (now my wife) and every tikme we feared for our safety. And we were only teenagers.

And that experience defines how I feel about the scum from SW6. I hate them with a passion, so much I wish them nothing but bad luck and ill fortune. I hope they go out of business. And I wouldnt say that about ANY other club.

And I think Im a fairly rational bloke, but being rational has nothing to do with Rangers fans of a certain age and the scum. If you cant understand it, you should just accept it. Its a fact.

Interesting OP and article. The vitriol was indeed unparalleled. I remember the Mata incident so clearly. He had received such dog's abuse that when he went to retrieve the ball for a throw, Lampard held a hand up to Mata to indicate that he, Lampard, would deal with the throw.

As Lampard got in range, the abuse tripled in intensity such that Lampard was certainly distracted and double checked his back. He was surprised by the intensity of booing etc.

Our visitor from Wigan reckons they can handle whatever they face. I can't comment on that but I can say with certainty that I'm expecting to be hoarse on Tuesday morning!

We're sending this guy. His name's Chunk. He will probably stun the more faint of heart into silence.

He counts as at least five towards our total though, right?

ETA not giving away anything I shouldn't by including his nickname - it's tattooed across his belly, and many of you will have your opera glasses with your, right?

Why would he stun anyone, he just looks like your average morbedly obese northerner that you'd see walking around in a shell suit around town.

Wigan have shocking fans, 11k for a playoff game is a joke. That's L1 standard.

And because of you mate, and your small minded, mean spirited attitude, I hope we **** you right over.

Great to see this site descending into the usual bollox that it's become recently ;).
Can't be bothered to go through the whole thread to see who said what to who first (was it about Dads being bigger) but a real shame it can't just stay at a bit of banter.

HP - always admired your club and how you seem to always 'punch above your weight'. For what I presume is a staunch Rugby town, I don't think you do too bad and think you have a great stadium there (Hope that doesn't sound patronising 'cos it definitely isn't meant like that).
I obviously won't wish you well for tmrw but hope you come up next year ;). Take care mate

Cheers Staines. Some of your lads seem to be affected by a sense of entitlement about their club and the money they've spent, seem to feel that because they support a club which has spent money they should get certain product in return. They have a consumer mentality, not a supporters. They get offended when someone like Wigan gets what they feel they're entitled to because they've spent more money and they've got more fans. But whatever we've done as a club, on a fraction of your budget, I suspect many supporters like yourself would love to get for your club - in the last decade eight years in the PL, a European campaign, a League Cup final, FA Cup win, FA Cup semi final. How proud would you be of your club if you'd achieved that on your budget? Imagine how proud I am of mine, on ours.

Good luck tonight, though with the usual riders. I hope we win of course, and in particular because you have the misfortune to have customers like the guy above following your club. Maybe one day he'll learn to love the game.

I think you've allowed yourself to get sucked in Saucy.

For me, it was just a little banter before a huge game. I have no beef with Wigan, other than hoping we beat them tonight.

Off to work now, although I really can't seem to concentrate on anything!!

I think thou protests a little too much.

TBH i have nothing against Wigan what-so-ever and admire what they have achieved at thier club

i do how-ever hope we make it as intimidating and imposing on thier fans and players for the duration of the evening, right up until we win.

Then normal service can be resumed <ok>

Its nothing personal tomatoe, BBQ or whatever sauce you are, just we intend to use every advantage at our disposal to see our side get through to the final

    Just like your fans did....Ahem...
