SSN: United make £27m bid for Luke Shaw

If it doesn't happen I'll know the reason why. As I said originally, I've never been one for attention-seeking or rumour mongering but I had a 100% reliable source about 4-5 weeks ago so thought I'd share with the board asap although I obviously understand people's irritation at not being able to reveal the source

I'd be extremely careful about revealing sources were I you, unless you have their express permission to do so it tends not to be a terribly smart plan.

For what it's worth I'd much rather have him stay and cop the stick!

 

Obviously you never accept the first offer for a player, especially with a World Cup on its way and with us not needing to sell. But, £27m is a huge amount for a left back.

 

What must Luke be thinking tonight. Reports he is in the England national team going to a world cup in Brazil and a bid from one of the biggest clubs in the world at the end of a brilliant season for him.

That's slot to take in for an 18 year old.

Shaw is great, but considering he has had 1 assist all season and not scored a goal, £27m for a LB is incredible money, but so is most money in football. If you were to compare him to other English transfers, I guess we would want a little more.

 

Possibly not, but offers will be made. Let's hope the owner holds firm...part with one, but can't part with two of our best.

 

I think he's more likely to go than Adam, unless Lallana hustles hard for a move. We'll be able to get some kind of value on Shaw that if reinvested won't massively weaken the team. For what we'd get for Adam vs what we'd lose it's probably not worth our while selling.

 

Saints won't be accepting it.

 

Andy Carroll went for £35, Shaw is worth at least that.

 

The person that tells me stuff said he thought everyone had gone home or was having a drink.

 

If we accept £35 for Shaw, we can be certain that the board aren't up to much!
