I've been saying it for a while. Let us remember... Cortese did not pander to the media and did not like them.

However, ever since his "showdown" with KL last summer, he had Neil Ashton and Jim White tucked firmly in his pocket.

Jim White of Sky Sports News and Neil Ashton of the Daily Mail. Both very strongly associated with David Bick, a big-shot PR in the City.

 

Yep, all the stuff is coming from the same people that Cortese treated well when he was about.

 

The evidence is becoming fairly compelling.

 

People actually believe there's a Cortese conspiracy? I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just genuinely intrigued. Can you explain?

Oscar Garcia has offered his resignation to Brighton. Seemingly may be off to Villa - either that or he's had a massive overreaction for losing in the play-offs!

 

Yes, I could get my head round it if I could find any reason at all as to *why* he'd bother. I can't.

 

It's Cortese, did he need a reason to both with Le Tissier? McMenemy? Removing photos of the historic Saints sides? It's bizarre.

 

Not saying it's Cortese it could be some one linked to him. It's very strange it's the same journo's that were licking our arse when Cortese was here and had all the gossip on us. Are now the same people who are linking our players with leaving and our club being sold when he was ousted.

Bitter he got pushed out? Haven't a clue. Whoever is doing it whether it is Cortese or a person close to him needs to get a grip. I hope whoever is doing it is found out and sued.

 

apart from blackmore, peach and goring, there was that woman at reed's statement who laughed and stated other clubs are briefing against us... maybe they have simply taken the opportunity to utilise the services of people formerly close to the club and cortese.

 

Maybe I'm fresh faced and innocent but I don't see why journos aren't more open about behind the scenes stuff like this. If someone told the truth about the behind the scenes snark, we'd all buy their paper/click on their article. You can do that whilst protecting "real" sources. Ho hum.

Think that just about sums it up.

 

Yeah; if I had to bet, I'd say that part of this is coming from someone in/close to the former regime, and the rest is from teams that smell blood and are trying to unsettle the situation further. Even someone with deep ties but no position with Saints anymore wouldn't be able to gain access to everything, especially if the team itself is aware that it's happening (and assuredly they are by now).

 

Is it not just possible that agents for bigger clubs are spinning webs of stories to unsettle the team and take advantage of this uncertainty to get in the players this summer rather than waiting?
