I have re read it an dit was more of a question than a statement, at leat that was the intent. I missed out the second question mark

Have you read the Study by Cranfield University?

The results showed that the amount of foreign land required to produce the substitute products – and the potential destruction of forests to make way for farmland – outweighed the negatives of rearing beef and lamb in the UK.

A lot of the time because it is on foreign soil, its not seen as an issue

Its a bit like Cameron saying tax planes because of the environment then sending hundreds of fighter planes (bigger carbon footprint) to Iaq, Afghanistan and Libya to bomb the bejeezus out of them, using radioactive nuclear weaponary no less.

Thats all I am saying, if anything they are equally bad

So, if the same beef and lamb 'substitute products' would require 'foreign land' - so what the **** are you saying?

But that would assume that all the beef and lamb eaten in the UK was reared in the UK.

this part of the study was in context to UK farming, you need to read it all to get a good idea of what they are saying, including the theory that if UK farming collapsed it would move abroad and the potential for less checks and safety measure so could be more damaging

sorry didnt understand your question in your post before this one

The green house argument I have heard before too, however Meat substitutes were also found to be highly processed, often requiring large amounts of energy to produce

I'm not picked on I just have a crew of morons that follow me about <ok>

So what is your argument then? Explain to me how vegetarianism is worse for the environment than meat-eating. And not just a couple of off-topic examples, give me a structured argument and I'll answer you.

You're a tedious ****ing pedant - can I point your way to a recent UN report, clearly stating the enormous global benefits of adopting a vegan diet, another study, stating the environmental benefits in requesting Americans not to eat meat just one day each week.

There is a global dimension here you stuck up knob.
