http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/watfordfc/watfordfcnews/11201513._/?ref=fbsend Shame its taken till the end of the season for somebody to say this in public. You'd like to think this was noticed during the season... Not the first time Alumina has talked about players not working hard enough either.
He talks a lot of sense - the lack of hard work, teh lack of leadership on the pitch and possibly the absence of someone wiht a sense of humour to unite the team all contributed
I could rant about their lack of effort for longer than they actually train! Only two people actually earn their pay imo and only one of them is likely to be here next season.
Two first team players who are out doing extra training when everyone else has left for lunch and they are Ikechi Anya and Tommie Hoban. Luke O'Nien is obviously famed for it too, but I cant really count him as he didnt play enough to influence the season. All 3 are out for 30+mins after the rest of the team have skulked off for lunch and then driven off in their flash cars.
I would love to turn up to work at 10:00, start work at 10:30, finish around 1 and leave by 2 in my Mercedes, Aston Martin, Porsche, Audi or BMW and earn £4000p/w for the pleasure!
Almunia has it right on all counts, including the timing. No point in undermining the management and causing ructions within the squad during the season - he'd just be labelled a troublemaker. He's chosen his words well and that includes his criticism of the management's linguistic skills. Kudos to Almunia from me I say. It might be as well to keep him and get him through his coaching badges whilst we're at it. AC has been a terrific servant but our young keepers seem to be lacking in something and it's a trend that has been continuing for several seasons now.
