Freshers Week I don't think I was sober so that's a week. A month is crazy man, has your liver recovered yet?

Haha that's actual alcoholism. Good stuff. People talk about waking up drunk, but I've never experienced that, so I've never been drunk longer than I've been awake. Definitely had several occasions on which I've been drunk every day of the week.

I was drunk once....so dreadful I have never repeated it. I look at people swearing never again and say well don't do it again...no one with a hangover gets any sympathy or silence from me.

I was living and working there for 4 or 5 months. Worked behind a bar so could drink what I wanted. I slept like 5hrs a night max for at least 3 months. I was a mess and had to actually drink so I didn't get a head ache and the shakes etc.

Yep fair enough, I never expect sympathy for hangovers because I bring it on myself. That's the best part of waking up drunk, no hangover. :D

Christ man. How did you get over that?

I drank so much I couldn't actually get drunk(near to when I returned to the UK). So when I got home I didn't drink for at least half a year. Still had the shakes etc at the start but they went after a few months of just drinking water.

It's a shame you had a bad experience on your first time. It can be pretty fun. A friend of mine (the same one I've been talking about way too much) tried weed and properly freaked out, had a panic attack and had to take the next day off work. Never seen someone so scared. She won't touch any drugs now, other than alcohol which she can't put down. She's even scared of caffeine.

I think a bad experience is exactly what you need...means no long term liver damage.

You have to give your liver a hell of a workout before permanent damage becomes likely.

For some people I suppose. I'm not daft enough to get myself in a position where liver damage is a real possibility, and I certainly hope I'm not daft enough to touch any proper drugs.

Worse for women though..livers are more sensitive. The sad fact is though that children's livers are also very sensitive and teenagers needing liver transplants are not uncommon. They are also less likely to be willing to give up alcohol, so there have been cases where doctors have refused to treat them as it is a waste of a rare liver. Still not meaning to be a downer...everyone does what they enjoy...just not something I am bothered about.

I don't get hangovers for some reason, not that I'm complaining. Although I've never woken up drunk.

Wouldn't that be contrary to their hypocratic oath?

Unfortunately Fran, it can sometimes be difficult for young people to socialise these days without drinking.

Livers aren't easy to come by...they aren't given to people who haven't shown they won't waste it. Read that only a few weeks ago. Not against their hypocratic oath as someone else get's the liver instead....someone where the chance of success is higher.
